watched it, the robot looks like number 5 from short circuit, it is al most the same as short circuit which is a better film.

using proper actors and then using cg humans was a crap thing to do. ok film but not pixars best

in the new york times it was described as

Goldberg, however, agrees with the critique that “Wall-E” is a bit of “Malthusian fear mongering” from Pixar. Two other bloggers go further and mount a conservative defense of the film.

sounds a bit too hardcore for. as a kids film, it seems a bit too complex for my taste. sadly i dont know what a malthusian is but these days kids are smart and will probably "get" the film more than i could.

Over-analysing simple fun films is probably why some people don't enjoy them.

Personally I loved it, I would agree it's not their best, but it's still fun :)

Nail on the head there, that's most the problem. Films are there from our point of view to sit and enjoy them for entertainment, from the makers POV to make us enjoy them (or think we'll enjoy them) so they can make us pay them :)

It's no more scare-mongery than Day After Tomorrow, which I also thoroughly enjoyed, and shows something that could easily occur.
Still a huge fan of Short Circuit though :)

I agree.

I'm going to see this next week, quite happily knowing it's not a Short circuit knock off and this whole bollocks about end of the world scaremongering bollocks is just daily mail-esque bullshit.

Looks funny and i'm going to bloody well enjoy it!

I too liked day after tomorrow, after my buddies and I saw it on the tele we went and built ourself heated bunkers down at the bottom of our gardens in case we should have to wait out the deadly freezing space wind.

I LOVED Wall-e. It's funny, sweet without being sickly so, amazingly animated, poignant without being preachy, and as soon as it comes out on DVD I'll be owning it.

Loved it. And in a lot of ways it felt more like 'proper' Science Fiction than any other movie I've seen in years.

Great film, I think if Pixar hadn't have had to keep the kiddies entertained it could have kept its serious tone throughout the whole film and made this one of the best animations ever made, the end bit made me well up a bit inside :S.. i feel like a big wuss. Imagine if the ending hadn't been the happy one... that probably would have made me cry a bit.
