I've been complaining for a while that I get texture 'tearing' from not having vsync enabled. BF1942 disables vsync and there's no option or config entry to enable it. I've emailed EA about this but I don't expect a positive reply.
In the meantime, anyone who's suffering from a lack of vync and using a nVidia card should download NVMax, a little utility which sits in the system tray and allows you to manually specify various options, including the ability to force vsync to stay on in OpenGL and DirectX apps.
