Here's how destro does it.

Take a BO/etc to initiate.

Then find a big hill.
Have everyone suicide and get ressed repeatedly as ressing gives that team VP.
10-20 mins of suicide ressing later you will get zone control.

Enjoy.

Christ...

Someone with knowledge should file bug reports and petitions to get the fuckers banned.

Also name and shame please, so I can laugh about another prolly high profile guild.

Don't even think to compare evolution and human evolving using "advantages" in that connection with wanting to play unfair to win in a computer game.
The two are not even remotely connected.

Actually I think that they ARE, look at the most succesfull members of our society, most of them are bastards.

They are still congratulated by the rest of society for getting to where they have.

Cheats DO prosper and crime DOES pay. This is a fact. Greed screws people over, but thats a different story.

If people can get away with cheating to get what they want, they will do so. This happens in computer games as well in real life. Its a basic tenant of the human condition.

Humans, while social, are self serving and use the group to further their own personal values before that of the group.

The only problem with evolution in this analogy is that the human race has affectivly removed the basics of evolution from our genetic make up.

As the gene-pool gets "dumbed down", the average human becomes less than the sum of his parts. This actually helps those willing to stamp over other people.

Anyone read "the time machine"? well its all going that way :p

One is survival and evolving of species, the other is "cheating in a computer game" - the two aren't connected, despite wanting to rationalize it.

Cheating in a computer game is essential inconsequential, it has little effect other then potentially ruin others game play, the other isn't - but can hold tangible and substantial rewards but especially also penalties.
The reason people like to "cheat", exploit or what not in computer games is exactly that it is inconsequential and anonymous.

Most people who do it in computer games, wouldn't think off running onto the field of a sports match and break the leg of the opposing team just to improve their own chances of winning - and the reason they wouldn't is due the publicity (aka the reverse of the anonymity the web provides) and the actual tangible penalties.

Yes some people are bastards real life and in-game.
But it isn't evolution, it isn't human nature. It is people being bastards.

Human nature is to behave yourself sensible (whether you actually want to or not) in a social setting to prosper - but once the anonymity of the internet kicks in, normal people behave like bastards and twats because they can without the fear of repercussion.

It simply all comes down to the anonymity of the internet and has nothing to do with evolution or human evolving. It is just people being twats because they can't do so in real life. The two things aren't connected in the manner you try to present.

I totally disagree, the only thing stopping the majority of people pissing on the rest is the fear of getting busted. Yes you are 100% right that the anonymity of the internet makes things more obvious

You yourself say

Human nature is to behave yourself sensible (whether you actually want to or not)

This is true, but only because people are scared. When you get the people outside of that group. Those who don't care about others, or know they won't get busted, then they WILL cheat/exploit in real life or in a computer game.

I think you mistake what im saying for my excusing these people, I am not.

I only talk about this as an arguement explaining WHY humans are such wankers because I have had the same discussion about a mate of mine only a week ago.
One firend has managed to go from an excellent job to a Financial Diretor of a Multi National. A job so far into the stratosphere that I never really thought much about it and what it meant. He was my mate from school, and we still call each other wankers in the pub.
It was only talking to a 3rd party about his apointment that the other guy asked me "how many people did he step on to get this job?" In my mind, none, he is still my school mate and I am able to sit and laugh with him. But to the thousands of people ranked lower than him, hes some kind of untouchable. I doubt these people would expect him to be in a crappy pub in london with a tosser like myself.
Which got me to thinking, WHY do people see successfull people in this light. Is it simple jelosy or is it because most of them actually ARE bastards?

Human nature is to look out for yourself first. The only thing stopping most people doing what they want is fear or one kind or anougher. Fear of being courght is an obvious one, but fear of being ostricised from the group is probably the main barrier to all out anarchy.

I apologise for wall of text and crap spelling, but I don't think anyone else is actually going to have read this far down :p

You're both actually arguing the same point, if you stand back and look at it properly.

On the one hand gordro is saying "people are bastards if they think they can get away with it" - entirely true, the majority of people are (some people are genuinely caring and giving to their fellow man) mostly selfish gits.

On the other hand Xandax is saying "people are bastards on the internet because they know they'll get away with it" or at the least not face any "real" punishment for their actions.

Fact of the matter is, in both situations, a lot of people that are at "the top" have got there by stepping on other peoples fingers, but there are also (very rare admittedly) those that got there "honestly". But Xandax is correct in saying, that the anonymity of the internet does encourage a much higher percentage of people to act in a way they would not ever dare to do in a real life setting.

Insane. Thats exactly the same bug/exploit that wrecked AoC city sieging...

I assumed a big company assigned manpower to check other games exploits as part of the creation process.

Yes. Except I swore more, so I guess he won :(

But on a happy note, people are talking/discussing rather than flaming!!

And a thread without flames is more likely to be read/understood by someone in a position to think about or respond to questions

So we both won!!!

here a beer for the posters on this thread, you all deserve one :drink:
