I don't like cheaters...

...your still reading, so you agree that cheating destroy the fun of playing Counter-Strike.

I would kindly ask BarrysWorld to setup one or two CS servers with punkbuster mode set to "REQUIRED compliance".

What do you think? Should BW setup some servers with punkbuster for a month or two, to see if people like it?

Please reply with YES as the first word if you agree, or NO as the first word if you don't.

I've already explained why BW will not be installing punkbuster on another thread on this forum.

Simple answer is the way punkbuster is at the mo it will not be added to the bw servers.

I'm with SAS. Most people are over paranoid about cheating anyway, it is an extremly rare case when I have to kick someone off for cheating on the servers, and I play alot. Usually the only time I need to is for TK'ers on CS8.

Well I dont see that there is that much cheating going on I have been playing for a good while now and was allways moaning to myself and friends oh that gits cheating !!!

but to be honest 95% of the times it was purely the game playing optical illussion e.g

That dude shot me through the wall well atleast he went behind the wall on my pc but on his he fired just before he went in ????

I have often been called a cheat and i was 56k normal joe
now im a splb and get called a cheat a lot less as they presume it caus of my sub 30 ping.........

I have realised that there is a small problem with cheats but its not as big as you think !!!!

If punks wanna cheat then thats sad but you can still beat a lot of em even when they are flying as a lot of cheaters are really shitty.. players and cant shoot a planet with a nuclear missile

Look dont worry about the cheats ignore them and you have spoilt most of there fun........

ffs and next time I get called a cheat I will laugh as I got a server rapping by a 170 ping last nite but i seem to have forgot his name as it happens I wish

Cheating happens in all sports games and everything imaginable , just be happy its not so widespread as other things

before you try to start a "we want punkbuster" pettition, plz consider all us modem users, i have tried ounkbuster on wirelay servers and blueyonder servers (Cs servers, punkbuster requiered) and it hurts, it takes 5 mins to properly load a map, and i dont mean start playing i can do that. What i mean is that the map will load but players will be out of sync, i wont be able to buy, or i can buy mid round, if a team wins a round, or u die you will see the msg "cts win" a round l8er and your health will drop to a 0 and back to a hundred. I'm sorry, that this much effort has gone in to punkbuster, only for it to fall flat on its face.

ch3tan thanks for that. :) It's another reason not to use it. So far punkbuster stops (some) cheats but gives players a whole list of new problems.

errrrrrm...that's wrong. as soon as a new cheat comes out...punkbuster release a patch for it to counteract it.

either way, there are not many cheaters on BW...a few, but not many. And, I feel it's down to Valve and the CS Dev team to fix these problems, not some 3rd party piece of software.

And as far as PB monitored servers taking along time for you to get into a map, and sync being off, that isn't due to PB, that is a known issue with CS 1.0 that valve is aware of. If I can find the link off of the CS admins forum, I'll post it here. I've experienced that same lag bug on non-PB monitored servers. Don't jump to conclusions with out all the info, folks...

ok maybe HL being out of sync during level change is (maybe) a engine problem, but i have only ever experienced it on punkbuster servers, never before the use of punkbuster on thoose servers. So methodically i am linking it to punkbuster, as i have never experienced it otherwise.
