So

who has either a softphone or a real voip phone and uses it?

Just setup (with Data's help) our very own voip server which I will connect to other providers once i get the billing sorted out....

Yeah we use a lot of skype at work, every desk now has a CyberphoneK voip handset and it's working nicely.

Used to use X-Lite on Gossiptel and I was never that keen. Pretty poor quality audio a lot of the time (though I'm quite sure it'll improve with service provider and connection/contention etc.).

Quite cool being able to receive a call on your lappy though. Potentially anywhere with a connection. Work/Talk etc.

Using some solution from Ericsson at work. Can't say I'm all that impressed with it, not that it's totally shit. IMO voip needs another 2 years to mature.

Actually I am impressed. Asterisk has come along way since the early days and the quality is as good as my pstn line.

If anyone wants to register with the voip server I can give you an extension etc. Still setting up access to PSTN gateways and other voip providers.

SIP/IAX(2)/etc all supported. Can even create conference rooms etc.

Anyway, pm me if ya want.
