voice problems

Right, i'm tryin to get the voice comm working in cs and nothin i've done has worked so i thought i'd come here for ideas.

Tested my mic in windows and with the voice tweak prog that comes with hl and it's fine, however when I press the talk button in cs it just outputs a loud droning noise.
I'm using a soundblaster live on an abit kt7 mobo running windows XP, i've tried using dsound set at 1 and 0, turned eax off, tried altering other voice cvars, all to no effect.

Anyone got any ideas on how to get it working?

i had the same problem, make sure all the options are check on for the mic, then go into the game and ask (can u hear me) somebody should say yes.

For me all along it was working, u cant hear your self!!!

you can, just use voice_loopback 1 in console and it'll let you hear what everyone else hears

err, dont do that.

First the 1 second delay till u start hearing yourself usually stops u in mid sentence.

And secondly as soon as u hear what u sound like in game u'l never want to use the mic again
