voice problem with C.S 1.3

Hi People

Got the patch, but when I try [voice set up] it says

"can`t find mic volume"

I have a Plantronics DSP 300 Headset with intergrated mic
and a USB connect. The kit works dandy with Roger Wilco.

Anybody have any ideas?

try to restart ur pc just right after cs update,then voice set up, maybe it will help)

voice set up ? is that a menu option now ?

That sounds a bit mental.

I don`t fancy erasing my copy of HL or CS just to repair
a bug in an installation routine that suggests you buy a
plantronics USB headset for use with a game that has so
obviously not been tested with one.

Just a thought.......it's prob stupid and totally wrong but anyway.....

Do u actually HAVE TO run the 'voice setup' program? I mean couldn't u just check ur mic is working fine using 'sound recorder', then assign a key to the voice comms in hl, and....... booya!!

Let me know what ya think. (I haven't tried this yet - a bit busy )

Just to let u know - i tried my idea out, and it seems to work fine People said that they could hear me clearly!

Whats the point of the 'voice setup' program then, since i never got to use it.

Anyway im running a SB128 PCI.

No afaik, setup must change a file somewehre saying voice activated yes/no. Its not in your config.cfg so it msut be somwhere else.

If you dont setuo voice u cant use it, unless you can find the file that contains teh command to turn it off/on.

THE bind in game only lets u talk it doesnt activate the comms.

Isn't the option for activating/deactivating voice comms a little check box in the hl/cs options?

To deactivate voice comms you go to play cs, then customize. There's options to change the volume levels and to disable voice comms altogether
