my DNS is fine if i ping the url from dos it resolves fine
that was the 1st thing i thought off tbh that why i tested it but thought it might have been a problem with vetiromix that some had hread of but nm

i had this problem for a while, whilsed trying, but failed, to setup... so i can only tell you what i tryed

i guess by that responce it is held on a local machine
first make sure the ports are open, and firewall lets incomming and outgoing transisions
then check the vent website to see if you can see it, removing password may help, i could see it, but couldn't connect, my guess if vent can see it its working...
lastly, with all that done, try connecting to it from a machine outsite your networkif
put a password on
try running an older version of vent and do all the things above, and make sure you have an older client to connect to it

after that, i gave up couldn't think what else to do

ps. i didn't actully test it on a differant macine outside network, cause i dont have one, but my guess is you cant be a dns server and connect to one

ps.. nore did i try the older version, but the current host of our vent server used it with little problem's
