.VOB to MP4 converter

Can anyone recommend a really good file conversion programme that can convert DVD (.VOB) files to MP4 for iPod usage? Ideally one that can hundle bulk conversions? My girlfriend is constantly hassling me to get video content onto her iPod for when she's on business trips. I've used AVS before but wasn't that impressed (seemed to get voice synching issues sometimes). Don't mind buying something if its good enough and I can leave it doing batch converts overnight.


(NB. All comments of "get the lazy cow to do it herself" will result in her hunting you down and ending you. Just sayin'.)

I'm pretty sure Handbrake is designed for just that, though I've never used it so don't end me if I'm wrong please!
