VN Boards and their posters

As have been told on here before, the people on the VN-boards seem to do nothing but whine. Yesterday (and today) however, I must say that they won the prize.

1.54 was supposed to go live yesterday (had been promised since Friday). However, due to severe thunderstorms in the Washington area which struck out all electricity for Mythic offices(and naturally everything else around), the patching was postponed until today (Tuesday).

Sanya, you have to admire her patience with the community, was kind enough to post on the VN-boards what was going on during the day (she couldn't reach the camelot herald until late yesterday) and all she got was abuse for the patching not getting done.

Today she posted again going through what had happened yesterday and how the bad weather had prevented Mythic from patching (no electricity means no computers). Again, she's getting abuse from the "community"... things like "you should have a backup powergenerator"...

What I'm about to say is that though I only play on the U.S. server nowadays, I still come here to read about DAoC discussion. You guys might be frustrated with GOA sometimes, and many of you have opinions about Mythic as well, but most of you are intelligent (and humorous) than the average VN poster.

Whatever.. now I'm off to do some spellcrafting with me lad Varawen.. 1.54 is up!

I got 140 posts on WhineGN, 95% of them on the Viking Boards, 90% of those 95% are about Thanes, 85% of that 90% are about needed improvements to the thane class, what does this make me guys?

It gets better... at some point I read a post about a guy who's friend had driven past the Mythic HQ AND THERE WERE LIGHTS!!! This was around 11 p.m. CET, so it's around 5-ish p.m. EST (which is their timezone).. when people heard there were lights in the office they were fully expecting patching to start..

I bet there were a few conspirasists who thought Mythic announced the patchday on Friday KNOWING WELL that the weatherforecast said heavy storms for Monday!!!!!

maybe you should've tried to RvR with a bug like that, a bug that you cannot miss notice and then have GOA officialy state that they did not find any bug..

oh.. which reminds me. Anyone read the Star Wars Galaxies forums? It seems every time someone posts anything on there, there is a race to top the post by saying '1st!!!!'.
