Cough how exactly did you come across your copy ;)

I'm worried too about throwing it on my comp as it requires IIS although since I'll get my new comp soon I might make a server :)

I came across my copy at this place I believe is known as a 'shop' ;)

Yeah - IIS is a bit of a bitch, but can be nice and secure when setup and patched correctly.

My main reason for implimenting .net is lack of hardware. Ferrago.co.uk is running on a puny box (Celeron 733) for the number of hits it gets (one sysadmin guy I told the specs to actually laughed out loud). The caching will help increase our pages/sec count a LOT, and increase reliability.

Sure you did and you handed over the big case full of £ ;)

Well my spare computer will be a 1800+ XP with 1 GB of DDR....although just a test server :)

Muhahaha - nice specs

The upside of my server is that its sat inside a bad boy NOC on the XO backbone in Reading

i use that version to. visual studio is 3 gig but the .net sdk is not big. also i don't use sourcesafe, that's only handy if you have like 100 developers working on a solution.

anyway i will be making my first windows application soon.
i already have a title for the app: Hello World! ;)
