Help Vista problem.

Damn Vista, never had a problem with it, but now the freakin' automatic updater(i know! Forgot... ) worked all night and got stuck to the infamous 3 of 3 stage.

Reboot reboot reboot.

Found some advice, like repair pc, since i'm without a disc. Pending/cleanup files renaming etc. Have to try when i get home.

Just curious, anyone else had this issue and how'd you get it fixed?

The problem in a nutshell is that the updater gets stuck on stage 3 of 3 0% and reboots.

Had this before

Booted from safe mode with networking.

Let it sit for about 5 minutes then rebooted

Worked afterwards.

Seems it's one of those problems that gets fixed if you reboot on a tuesday while wearing last mondays tie and do a chacha ontop of a whipped cream pudding

Yea i was troubleshooting a user yesturday.

it was like there shift key was stuck.

Yet the key wasnt down

I hit the windows key on the keyboard 10 times to reset the board and it worked.

Your problems sounds just as random like you said.

On our Systems in work sometimes the desktops have this wee fault.

When a user is typing no matter what its like the shift key is stuck down so they type like this

!S&^£UD*£)Y)(&^£MOLBUBUE

Spam the windows key 10 times turns of any held buttons num lock or caps lock etc and set's it back to english.

ahh cool. Sometimes sticky keys is the issue or their shift button is borked! When I was on the helpdesk I would say "hit the shift buttons really hard" lol. If that never worked i'd check sticky keys
