Vista ending?

I'm no expert in this but I was talking to an IT guy at one of our customers who said he had heard that Microsoft were replacing Vista in 2010 with a new operating system called Microsoft 7.
I guess i'll use Xp Pro in my new system then, which should have support until 2012. That would give MS 2 yrs too tweak there new OS I s'pose.

End Date for XP was 2007, then pushed back to 2008. But since customers refuse(d) to buy Vista for their company the support got another 4 years.

Vista Business allows you to "down-grade" to XP Pro too

Microsoft will have to change their business model for their operating system soon. People won't keep upgrading to new ones anymore. People just expect things to work nowadays and nobody will bring out new products that only work with the latest version of windows because they would lose so many potential customers.

Same here, I started using it with RC2 (partly because I feel brave and partly for jobreasons) and so far it works decently.

Oh, and I would be seriously surprised if 2010 will truely be the end-of-life mark for Microsofts support on Vista.
