Most places will accept Egyptian pounds, US dollars, Euros, or UK pounds (English notes only). Though it depends on the shops, and taxis will usually only take Egyptian pounds. I don't know about Cypriot pounds, but I doubt it tbh.

I was over there in July (hurghada), and they prefered to take British Pounds or Egyptian pounds. We tried to use british as much as possible as we got a slightly better rate, not much but all the pennys count :p. But they'll take euros aswell. Not sure about cypriot pounds though sorry.

That's just 'cause he doesn't like me calling Anubis a b*tch.

What am i to do? Gave her a group of undead skellies and she uses me for a one-night stand :(

Where in Egypt m8?

Went to Sharm last September - wanted to get some scuba diving in - which was fucking un-believeable.

Anyway - we took Egyptian pounds but the scuba instructor we knew says they love GBP. Take a mix if unsure.

:)

I usually go Egypt about 5 times a year but have only been once so far this year :( It is a lot easier to just take Egyptian pounds, you will know where you stand then. Most if not all the restaurants have their prices in Egyptian pounds, the big hotels usually have their prices in US dollars and couple of the dive centers have their prices in Euros.

I usually change some up at the airport and then use the cashpoints out there.
