Will do you know how flexible they are with the VIP bundles? It's tempting me, but I don't want all the home phone stuff, you rekon I can talk them into changing the deal a bit?

I'm afraid not. Its a fixed deal, you need the phone stuff to qualify.

I dont mean remove the phone stuff, just not the XL package, we'd never use it.

The deal isn't flexible I'm afraid. You need all the £85 worth of stuff to get the discounted rate.

Virgin bolloxed up our order so we pay £45.00 a month for 2x STB(1 is HD) , XL TV, 10Mbps Broadband. I told them I was in the 30 day cooling off period and didn't wan't to go back to Sky so could they do anything for me ?

Reduced the price right down.

Edit. I also got told today that 10Mbps customer get upgraded on 1st of April with the rest of the country being upgraded to yet to be confirmed packages from 1st of May

Chet the whole point of the VIP package is to get you with them on everything, they give a good deal to you money wise and in return they get to provide you with everything they can, it works for them and works for you.

I think they could have more variation over their packages, but it would end up being complicated and not really benefit many people.

This bit is wrong. The XL broadband is being upgraded in a phased rollout, starting in May. The other speeds are not being upgraded at this time.

You will be able to download sky's programs twice as fast :p

The level of pettiness between Virgin and Sky right now could almost see Virgin mention something like that (I love their feud).

"With our new 20mbps cable service you can now download the latest episodes of Lost and 24 in minutes, many months before you will ever see them on Sky, all for just £37/month!"

I reckon that argument is going to take a turn for the worse soon, although I kind of think Sky is certainly being seen as a bully.

Virgin Media should consider upgrading their lower end packages as well. 4mbit doesn't sound quite so fast with 8mbit ADSL and 24mbit ADSL2 (even though most won't get maximum speed), especially with Be at £24/month.

The only problem is people dropping their package to a lower speed if all packages get upgraded, they feel their connection is fast enough. This might happen with a few people anyway if they consider the price rise a bit too much.
