Virgin cable issue

So in the process of moving house. Just realised the previous owner had Virgin. There doesnt seem to be a master socket anywhere so ive got BT coming to sort that, but it also lopks like the tv aerial cable has been replaced with some weird connector is that something they normally do? Is there some sort of adapter i can get or do i need tp install a new aerial cable?

That looks like it screws into the back of a tv tuner box like a sky box or a generic DVR or a virgin tv box or now tv.

Many of the set top boxes use a more secure aerial connector with threads, like this one:

I am not sure if it would be as simple as getting a convertor perhaps? Maybe even the connector terminals if you are any good at stripping / messing with coax?

Those are the virgin cables coming in. So separate to a TV aerial. I’d check if there actually is a TV aerial on the roof and if so where the cable from it goes. There might not be one.

Yu wont be able to get tv from the virgin cable unless you sign up and pay them.

As above. You need a proper roof ariel or in roof aeriel. But if those before you had cable i doubt you have one.

Yeah theres an aerial up there. Looks like the aerial cable goes down the roof then cant see it going anywhere. Bugger.

Looks like you will need to run a new cable. Might be worth checking if its a newer aerial to cause older ones dont pick up digital transmissions as well.
