I feel better this morning after my small rant and reading the pain some other people have. Sometimes it's good to whine :>

I was thinking of all the possible scenarios of how to kill a Sorc+DI Bot as a solo shadowblade, and the only way it is possible, is like this:

The weak link is the DI Bot. Attacking the Sorc is fruitless unless the DI Bot is Mezzed/Killed. The Sorc has enough tools to keep alive even without the DI Bot, unless you get an amazing 2h PA in with Mezz on it and kill the Sorc in 1 hit before DI kicks in (is this possible?).

The main important factor is whether the Sorc has purge up. If purge is up, you are almost guaranteed to be killed through purge then pick your I-win -> MoC3+LT, or SoI+ML9 Pet.

If purge is down then you have a slim chance of a win, and it looks like you have to do this:
PA+CD DI Bot with Mezz Poison, Sorc has purge down, so you just have to throw everything you have at the DI Bot. These unfortunately tend to be a bit tough, but IF you get it dead, then you can try and attack the Sorc, but you generally have SoI to deal with next and ML9 Pet. If you somehow managed to vanish without being popped out 1 second later, then you can come back with another Mezz maybe 30 seconds later (immunity timer?) to face MoC3+LT and hope the ML9 Pet gets mezzed.

I reckon the chances are about 1 in 50 that you can pull it off.

Add in some archers shooting you at the same time and also random traps to walk on that will pop you like a rabbit in front of headlights, and maybe the chances go to 1 in 100 :>

I WILL pull it off one day, but it just makes me sick all these free RP Sorcs get, where Melee classes have to EARN their RP, they just point and click and pick I-win and yay more RP.

and special titles for duelers heheh that will fix things and soloers will be happy too :touch:

i'm sick of getting adds when i try to have a fair duel but in an rvr zone all have the right to add and kill
and thats a fact games is design to be like this.

For DI and ML9 pets i say dont nerf but give melle classes some good toys too so they can compete the OP casters

Oooooo it's a post by illu - I MUST mention something about that he runs around with 6 resists blah blah, when in fact ALL assassins pretty much run around with 6 resists now thanks to CL lines.

I was wondering if there was some way of implementing a way where the game knows whether there is a real player playing a 2nd account stuck to a toon. If you could only RvR by being "active", this would stop people dragging buffbots about with them that could be bodyguard or DI Bots. Maybe only have /stuck allowed on enemy players in RvR and not your own realm players? How would that affect the game?

Also, thinking about people outside towers with DI Bots inside, perhaps you should only be able to heal with DI when the Bot can see the toon, with line of sight. That might help some frustrations when you fight someone near a tower and they just stay within the Safety Zone of the DI range.

I agree, those sort of arenas would be pretty naff.
I saw an Infil vid the other night that was ok, but could have been better (Bigjake1) but the best bit in it was when he found a few people to duel. Whereas over here in Euro, we tend to stay unstealthed to bypass our PA line, and just have a scrap, in his vid, each time they /bowed then they stealthed. It made for a much more interesting fight because you never knew who would see the other person first, and if lucky, get that nasty PA in.
Duelling in stealth mode might be a better way of doing it - what do stealthers think?
It also stops the chance of passing Casters nuking down stealthers that are literally about to fight (me and Phibe) by his fellow trigger happy Alb Linux.

This sums it up one thing though that might be possible - root mine and then you possibly have a really good chance of getting that first PA off.

I guess the other good thing about killing the DI bot is that the chances are that the 'I'-win easy moder will have to release the bot and go back for buffs....

I don't mind DI tbh =) I don't know who remembers it, but it already existed in OF and was called Battery of Life back then. Sorc +DI bot can be as bad as animist +VW on bodyguard <whistles innocently> (I only did it on tower sieges at bolg though with my brother, no soloer was involved in the spanking =)) ).

The worst thing is ML9 pet in RvR imho. If ML9 was changed so that the dmg stayed like if there was no ML9 (although resist rates for casting mob and melee abs stay the same) in RvR, it would be much fairer. PvE? Who cares =)) I'm all for instakilling every mob, I hate to do ToA on all the chars =)

CBA to give more free RP to the Horner crew at Beno tonight.

After many many good fights against all sorts, I was going to stay on another hour longer, to try and get more RP and give more RP to Albs at Beno.
I have no qualms fighting relatively fair fights or dying, but after being killed for the 6th time on the trot by the "Invincible Tag-Team Duo" of Horner and his DI Bot in tow - it was really starting to grate.

Where is the enjoyment in adding on every single fight, the easymode of f8 nearest enemy LT LT LT. Doesn't it get boring? I know a lot of players re-roll or play a different toon, because if it is too easy, it becomes boring.

A lot of the shadowblades I talked to, after being killed over and over ended their nights playing early simply because of this. Well done! All the albs at Beno can congratulate themselves and wander aimlessly looking for people to kill, most have had enough for tonight and logged off.

The game is to blame I suppose, but when we take a boat all the way to Alb land to get continuously steamrolled, howabout occasionally showing some mercy?

You can keep playing the way you are playing, but when there are no people left to kill for the evening - then what?

This game needs to severly nerf Sorcs and their ML9 Pets that hit for almost 900 a hit (when I had AF+PH up ) and DI Bots. In fact nerf all casters, nerf grappling, nerf ML9 pets to oblivion, fix vanish, give ladders at towers, and the game might actually become a bit more enjoyable.

DI Bots should only work in groups of 4 or more to fix the ridiculous OP'dness of them in small groups, or let them only work in PvE.

Anyway, just venting some frustration :> I recommend it, I definitely feel better now :>
I think I'll give it a few days before I play again though. Annoying game.

the enjoyment for people like Horner and others that play like he do is that they get a moment of fame from posts like yours, not by skill or respect, they are just the griefing type of player and you feed them and play them right into their hands by giving them attention.

Put yourself into the head of a person like that, he see a fair fight between 2 players, he can either choose to run off, stand and watch, perhaps kill the winner, or blatantly add and get as much RPs as possible and also another thing, he _knows_ the person he add on and kills will sit there and curse, grinding his teeths, curse some more and think the adder is a ****, faggot, arsehat, maggot, prick, asshole, idiot, you name it, you got it. This is what essentially drives this kind of player, he need it for it to be worth it, he doesnt care a single bit about respect, fair play, morale, honour or any of the others things that tend to characterise a roleplayergame. He would probably use a sniperrifle with an aimbot in CS and just grief, he would probably corpsecamp in EQ, he would probably gank lvl20 expers on camlann, thats just how this type of player is, nothing will change that. Whats more sad than these people is their fanbois though, wannabegriefers that are so unskilled so they even cant grief properly so they get the attention they long for.

The sad thing with DAoC is, its that type of player that get rewarded, its that type of player that survives and will be here until the servers shut down, honourable players, skilled players getting outskilled by zerglings loose in the end and just leave the game. Its zerglings and griefers that wins it in the end, nothing will change that.

Just stfu and play Illu, dont feed the monkeys, dont do them the favour of giving them attention, just play and do your thing, its the only thing you can do, if its getting too much, just do something else.
