Unfortunately not... costs $80 per year for 1 site licence if i remember correctly

Invision Board (erm, www.invisionboard.com I think) do a very powerful PHP/mySQL messageboard and have a free download. You might want to try that.

Shame really because Invision is currently far superior. phpBB really needs to launch the next branch as I used to like it a great deal, until I used invision.

Invision is lined up to be my 'next' messageboard when I relaunch Students' Social* - I was sold on it when I started poking at the Neowin forums.

Prior to that it's Perl powered YaBB, which though perfectly functional, doesn't do much more than is on the tin.
