The people know the risks when they enter the frontier, the risk to be killed be people from a enemy realm.
Also those greycons con might con purple to other people, heck the greycon I kill today might have killed many albs (my realm mates) in the battlegrounds.
Sure ofcourse the enemy may have mercy and spare your life but thats not something to expect just because you're grey.
The scenarie is that we are at war, all 3 realms, and that includes people from all realms.
Im from Albion, I want to kill/slay all the savages from the opposing realm and spare noone.
Its a part of the game.

These situations always remind me of that scene in Saving Private Ryan,where Tom Hanks lets the German machine gunner go (we all know what happened next).
