The point of this thread was to discuss the shitness of the game. I could be as big a cunt as you and say:

Anyhow whats the verdict on this game, is it shite or not. I do an exam in 2weeks and Ill need to treat myself once its over. So whats it to be BF1942 or UT2k3?

I have bf1942 so you know what my choice would be. When the technical issues are solved it will be worth the money.

I decided against the other as I dont have enought time to play all the games I have.

Buy solider of Fortune 2 is my suggestion, its hardly an original idea but it looks nice, is very playable, and it works :)
(Still not as good as cs, but there ya go ).

/Awaits inevitable flameage .....

The game is great, that review on firing squad was bullshit, read all the other reviews (barrysworld or GameTactics http://www.gametactics.com/reviews/pc/ut2003/ for example).

Spam is an issue, but it is for all fps games, the guy doing that review probably just got annoyed cause he was shit and kept getting himself killed.

U do need apowerful pc for multiplayer though, ive got an amd 1400 with 256meg ram and a gf3, i have to play it 800x600 with all detail off (still looks good though) to get a respectable framerate - although in singleplayer i could play it at much higher resolutions. There are some config tweaks to improve fps by about 15-20 though and level load times are very quick as well.

There are lots of servers, that are busy, there are no cheats (yet) and the stats system us great, its well worth getting especially as games like counterstrike and quake3 are getting very tired now.

Ok ive just bought UT2k3 from Play.com (cant play it till end of next week tho) Funnily the specifications for this game to run are:

PII 233Mhz
64MB RAM
8MB 3D Graphics Card
Win 9x/Me/2000/XP
This information is based on specifications supplied by manufacturers and should be used for guidance only

I DONT THINK SO!!!!!!

Thats nore like the specs for the original Unreal to run:D
