I like it, its fast, there are nice little tocuhes to the motion in the game that means theres a lot of room for l33t jumoing madness ala quake2 (for example adding a jump at the end of a dodge extends the dodge jump even further, the double jumping is there as well.
I had an early beta (may this year) of the game and the maps certainly get better, especially the ctf maps.
I also like the weapons, i dont see why they are boring, i mean ffs quakes weapons are looking pretty tried and tested aren't they? UT has all the ewapons quake has, each has a secondary fire and it has more weapons on top of that as well.
I didnt like the original UT, i thought quake3 was alright, but nothing special (i was on a modem when it came out so i coudlnt play it online due to its.. "odd" net code). I much preferred the q2 style of game play (slower but more tactical, but still fast paced enough) and UT2 seems to match that.
The gameplay as far as i can tell is fast paced, lots of action with plenty of room for tactical teamplay. It will come with 12 "mutators" - quake3 came with...2 was it?
its just a demo give it a chance. oh and the singleplayer isnt too bad either, its kinda like a cross between speedball (team character training, transfers, leagues etc) and quake.
Anyone worked out how to actually activate the adrenaline, as ive actually managed it in the beta a few times but i cant actually work out the controls to do it :/
