ok, here goes my results, might as well, spent enough time compileing them.
ill start with my system spec.
AMD k6-2 450 with 128 meg ram ( pc100 ), and an FIC SS7 mobo ( ATX ) ( 1 meg ), fugitsu 8.4 GB HDD and an Creative labs PCI 128.
creative labs TNT 2 Ultra ( 32 MB ) ( NOT O/C'ed )
creative labs Voodoo II ( 12 MB ) ( O/C'ed to 97 MHZ )
( im mr creative )
( monitor at 85HZ in all resolutions, helps smooth it all out )
ok here go's.
DIRECT 3D
TNT2 ( 16 BIT ) ( medium detail, medium skins, detail textures. )
640 x 480 31 FPS
800 x 600 28 FPS
1024 x 768 24 FPS
TNT2 ( 32 BIT ) ( medium detail, medium skins, detail textures. )
640 x 480 22 FPS
800 x 600 22 FPS
1024 x 768 20 FPS
As you can all see this is just plain and simply SHIT, No argueing.
3DFX
VOODOO II ( 16 BIT ) ( medium detail, medium skins, detail textures. )
640 x 480 36 FPS
800 x 600 32 FPS
VOODOO II ( 16 BIT ) ( high detail, medium skins, detail textures. )
640 x 480 34 FPS
800 x 600 31 FPS
Now ill evaluate this data. All these results were done useing the correct settings in UT and the latest drivers ( TO MY KNOLEDGE ).
The TNT2 was just plain silly, and V2 was sweet. Also useing the menus seemed very lagged and took a long time useing the direct 3d setting, where as the 3dfx setting was straight in there.
HOW I DID THE DEMO
ok ill make this simple, i loaded the level DM-PHOBOS and just ran around randomly around the whole level fireing randomly. I then recorded the average FPS result.
Plz could i have some more results useing the same technique or a better one, as im sure most people here would love to know how they fair.
Thanks.
LONG LIVE UT, AND GET THE FOOKING D3D SORTED.
