I just bought Prince of Persia for £10 and on the way home threw the receipt away (it was kind of a reflex action) now I get home and it asks me to insert disc 2, and I don't have it...the bloke obviously forgot it. Will they give it to me without a receipt? :(

Well go back straight away, with any luck the person that served you will still be there.

If they had the real case and display and the discs in an off sale area, the second disc should still be there. All you can do is ask, although you really should keep your proof of purchase for at least 28 days.

Your credit card statement will normally be good enough for a receipt, although you have to wait for it.

17. :p And no I didn't use a credit card. I just sent my brother back with the receipt, the box and also it had a whsmith sticker on the front, so its pretty obvious I got it from there..I just hope the blokes shift didn't finish at lunchtime otherwise it might be a bit confusing.

In this instance the security guards are allowed to tranq you on sight and bum-rape your twitching form in a back room.

Not really worth it, imo.

I never buy anything media related (disc's I mean) from places that keep them in a seperate place. I don't want them getting their grubby hand's on my discs and, they're always kept in really bad conditions :\

Thats your loss then. I go to Asda and buy stuff from there, for the sake of the odd fingerprint I can save myself a fiver.

Thing is, try explaing to HMV that there was in fact no disc inside your shrink wrapped PC-CD case.

Even with a receipt they told me to fuck off. I forced the twunts to open up the rest of them and bob's your uncle 3 of them had CDs missing. He was all apologetic for a pico second.

Woolworths are pretty shite sometimes too (well, they're sharp-as-a-housebrick staff are anyway). I went in there a while ago and bought the PC version of Colin McRae 4, took it up to the desk, paid, saw the disc go in the case, took it home, tried to install it. The schmuck who'd served me had put the PS2 version in the PC version case. :\

If you're already shopping there, then yes, because you save on the postage.

Play/Amazon do free postage though.

And I'd never already be shopping in Asda. The mere thought of it repulses me!

oi! :twak:

The only reason shops keep the stock seperated from the cases is because of theft. Electronic tagging is pretty bloody useless and means a fortune spent on the tags, scanners and the security guards to cover every door.

Ideally there would be a display case for everyproduct and the real things would be kept perfectly shrink wrapped.

Personally I prefer to buy things shrink wrapped, but as long as the case and disc are in perfect condition I dont mind.

Leggy: That does happen a fair bit. We had the Alien moveis on dvd's, most of them were returned because they had the wrong two discs in the packaging, i.e Alien =Alien 3 bonus disc. We opened the other 20 or so we had in stock and they were all buggered.

In fairness I have to say the people who work at the cd/dvd/games counter in our local Woolworths seem to have some kind of medical disorder.
They move like they have been drugged, speak in the same slow confused fashion and dont really seem to have any idea what they're on about :(
Only time I ever go there is maybe christmas if Im getting a dvd for someone or something, and even then I always regret doing it.
Shopping there ranks alongside going to Argos for unpleasant things I have to do occasionally :)

That happened to me with Pro Evo 3 - they (GAME) gave me the PS2 disc rather than the PC one.

Could've kept it as I have a PS2, but wanted to try the PC version out.

While bitching about shops, as I mentioned elsewhere I was in Game last night and bought 3 PC titles for £20. One of them was for my daughter, and the other 2 were mine. Now on the way out of the shop immediately after purchasing these titles, my daughter spies a Scooby-Doo game that's part of the same 3 for £20 offer, and changes her mind.

So I trot back up to the counter, and am served by exactly the same guy who I'd bought them off less than literally 2 mins ago and tell him I want to swap the original game the wee one had picked for this SD one. What does he turn round to me and say?

"I'll have to check, because we're not allowed to return PC games under any circumstances."

WTF!??

You been smoking rolled up carpet, boy? I was only here literally 2 minutes ago and bought the one I want to change - don't be such a dick!

He actually had to go and check with the manager - a guy I know, as I worked in that same store for 5 months from Oct '02 to get me off the brew.

Seriously, is this the sort of intelligentsia that forms the future generation of our country?

:(

I think offer of the week goes to our local Tesco's, where at 0530 this morning I bought a copy of Toca Race Driver 2 for £15.99 . :D

Just a few months ago I got CoD from the same store for the same price. Seems someone put the wrong price sticker thingy on, and cos the night-shift dood's are a bit...........erm........tired, they dont argue when I say "But thats what it says on the sticker, you have to sell me at that price" (which of course they actually dont)
