Here is what happened:

Clicked SI game icon. I got new client 1.47 downloaded immediately. It did not even try to contact europe patcher.

It then says program has been changed run again etc.

At this point I copy the original europe version of update.dat back.

But now when I try to run the game it does nothing at all.

This has happened me once before. I have full backup of SI and tried to copy it over the existing one but that did not solve the problem. Reinstalled that time. But there must be some other way?

Skip the updater altogether:

Open your Mythic/SI folder (or Mythic/Camelot if you aren't running SI) and go to the tools menu at the top. Choose Options and then on the Folder Options window go to the View Tab.
Scroll down a little way and remove the tick from 'Hide Extensions for Known File Types' Click on apply and then ok.

Right click anywhere in the background of the folder window and choose New->Text document.
Open this document and type in login.dll then save it.
Rename the document login.bat. Right click on it and Send To -> desktop to create a desktop shortcut.

Now If you double click on this shortcut it will take you straight to the login screen and skip the updater completely. Just remember to login properly when there is a patch or you won't be able to get in.

Thanks for the info.

I guess that will work till we get new patch and I must get it somehow. I know reinstalling does the trick but hopefully there is easier way also.

Also make sure you've put the right patch back in. I made the mistake of updating my update.dat with the DAoC info rather than the SI info. Result - just what you'd described, just appears to do nothing and not run.

Aye, used this (i have backup of working .dat)
Mythic Patch
193.252.123.21:1280/updates/english/isles/mpatch.dat
193.252.123.21:1280/updates/english/isles/mpatch.dat

and yes I have SI installed and tried to launch SI version.

Thanks anyways m8.
