If I buy these 2 will I need to buy new ram and gfx card to be compatible with them, or do they work whatever cpu and mobo you have? Also would it work with this graphics card,

And could anyone recommend decent ram to go with it, or perhaps a better alternative to any of the components? Cheers.

What sort of memory do you have at the moment? I'm guessing that PC3200 ram will be the best for that board but I'm not sure if the Athlon 64's still require fancy expensive registered memory, some one else more knowledgable will help there I guess.

As for manufacturers go for what your budget allows and two sticks are better than one.

Graphics card wise, any AGP card should work with your chosen bits.

You really should be posting your full existing spec before asking such questions. it's not hard to do and a lot of people have forgotten this recently...

Umm I've got...

Amd Athlon processor, 1.1ghz
ASUS A7N8X-X mobo
1gb ram
Radeon 9700 Pro
2x 512 512MB DDR-SDRAM PC2100
and 2x 60gb hd's

Do you need more? Sorry if that doesn't make sense, I'm not great with tech stuff.

Yes, ideally to know what the ram speed and type is, if you're planning to enquire as to its compatibility!

Heh, I'd have put money on that being in there before... heh - but if you've only got PC2100 you're going to need to buy a stick of DDR400(PC3200) for the Athlon64 Corsair ValuRam is good enough, Scan do 512Mb sticks for less than £60 apiece.

That said, for a little more you could get a S939 system with a dual channel memory and more cache memories... and the performance bump is pretty significant.

And yes, that radeon will work fine. With any new midrange+ card just make sure you have a decent PSU, 450W is more than ample.
