Updater crashing

Had a trawl through but can't find anyone else with a similar issue recently.

Had Camelot working fine a couple of days ago, this morning i wakeup and everytime i start the updater, my firewall complains (never used to) and i just get a grey window with "Mythic Updater" at the top.

Updated one Win2k security update, but nothing more complex than that since yesterday...

any suggestions?

Maybe tied in with my IExplorer not initializing anymore? I don't really care about that, as i can just get the net from any window, but relevant?

your firewall is probaly blocking game.dll and login.dll and maybe the ports used by daoc need to switch firewall off and see if that resolves the problem.

Right, it appears to be something up with my PC. IE not working was the start, now Norton and most updater clients are crashing - does the Norton Internet Secruity use java of some kind? Im not a programming bod, but it appears that anything that requires the activity going on on the desktop, it hangs and then does the whole "might be debugging, please yada yada..." so its a cold restart off at the wall for me each time.

Methinks i need a reinstall of 2k, soon as i dig out a disk i haven't used as a coaster

I dont have this probllem but i have been having strange lag latelly. When i use TOA client it works fine. But when i use Catacombs i get lag spikes.

Might been some sneaky spyware.

well my problem is that when i play then suddenly i go ld and then i try to connect to the goa server(s) again.

but then i cant access any of their servers (chronicles, www.camelot-europe.com, and ofc excalibur server) - Mythic update turns grey and is not responding.

after a couple of minutes then i can access their network again, and after 15-20 min i go ld again.

i suggest run pingplotter or visualroute and send the logs to rightnow again.

something is not right near GOA's network platform

i can access all other webpages when i have been sent back to desktop from daoc, just not GOA's.


i live in Denmark btw, are the rest of you who got the problem also living in Denmark ?

Are any of you with BT in the UK?

if so and your internet is playing up goto

Tool's, Internet Options, Connections, Lan Settings, in the 2nd address bar type cache.btinternet.com and in the port choose 8080

this fixed my weird internet problems. I did later update the MTU settings in the registry but see how you get on with the first part.
