In the beginning, I figured the parents' willingness to accept and take part in the big media circus was just a rather unusual way for them to cope with the feelings of loss, guilt and desperation. As such, I could perhaps at least muster some tiny kind of understanding for it, even if I'd never act like that myself.

But with this, now it's gone completely overboard. They now have a manager, a website and a donation fund, an online store... I can only agree with everyone else here - it's gone beyond reason now and all sensible people can do is throw our hands up in disgust.

And you know with parents like that, if that girl is ever found, she is going to turn into a new Paris Hilton. When she is old enough, she is going to be interviewed, write a book, sell the movie rights, be followed by media wherever she goes - and she is not going to get the chance to be just a normal person.

the above is a link to part of a reputable newspaper article in portugal that apears in the 'sol', basically translated it seems to say that the police think that the little girl was probably dead in the mccanns apartment before she left and the investigations are centering around the mccanns and their friends, they are also searching robert murats home thoroughly.

the report also suggests that the british media are afraid of reporting anything that looks bad against the mccanns for some reason, and that gerry mccan is in contact with gordon brown.


all seems very strange and sadly it doesnt look good for the little girl . it also doesnt seem to look good for the parents and their friends.

But then again, theyve made more than a million pounds out of it and are enjoying a free round the world trip to distribute balloons and ribbons and they met the pope (wtf is that going to do)

That idiot was me, and I WOULDN'T get the media involved. I'd do it the proper way, contact the police and search my ass off.. Lucky I'm not a parent who'd leave their kid alone in another country I certainly wouldn't want The Sun covering it, and I certainly wouldn't want donations.

Well its blown up big by the media around the world. Thats true. And that huge reward made it even bigger. But imagine if your kid was lost i'm sure you would contact the police with help from the media to get her picture out so you get some help with the searching. Since the police and you cant do it alone, there are always "bystanders" helping to search due its being publiced in the media, it will help you... were talking about a kid and not just some dog or cat.

I have a little sister that is 3 years old and if it would happen to her I would personally involve the media OR some organisation that helps looking for missing children to be honest...

But I read today maybe her parents had something to do with it now? If thats true it would be really sick to "trick" the whole world like that.
