Looking for something ew as stargÅte(after third watching through) is a bit done and the new SGU doesn't really "impress".

Any new upcoming sci-fi, or even old ones(heard good things about andromeda), that i should add to my list of interest?

I'm looking for things in the line of stargÅte and sarah connor.

Meaning action, robots, spaceships, etc.

Also would help if it had humorous elements in it every now and then, has an underlying story, but all episodes are good individually.

No Battlestar Galactica snoozefest thank you, it was good for one viewing, but too much drama talking :D

Farscape was a good series (SG1 later nicked some of their better actors Vala/Cam), Andromeda was ok but stopped watching it after a while, BSG was good but you've probably seen it, though there's a spin-off coming 'Caprica', though is meant to be more planet based.

Ah, should've listed those.

BSG, Star Trek(as much as on can bare), firefly, lex, farscape(very nice). Seen those. Also earth 2 now that i think of it.

Caprica seems like more of the BSG drama, but even without ships, so not really looking forward to that :D

Andromeda was good until about season 4 and then it tailed off, season 5 was a complete farce as they just looked for a quick way to end the show.

Babylon 5 and the movies plus the spinoffs are well worth getting. Proper stories that make sense in that show.

Space: Above and Beyond.

I'm still saying it's the best sci-fi series ever.

Yeah, Doctor world is covered from top to bottom, can't wait for the K9 one!

Also Bab5 and the spinnyoff, crusader or whatnot, has been watched to death. Though not lately.

That, Dark Skies, and B5 are my fav. Still got to get my r1 space above and beyond boxset, haven't re-watched it for years now.

Try Eureka - I guess that qualifies as sci-fi? Also, Fringe is about to return (tomorrow) for a second season...

Quite enjoyed Stargate Atlantis, but the way they ended the series was a joke. All done and dusted in one episode, very little tension and a pathetric trite plot. Plus the way they ruined Jewel Staite's character in the last series and turned her into Rodney's squeeze was a joke.

If you can put up with the terrible special effects and the odd silly episode get yourself the DVD's of Blakes 7. The characterisation in that show was probably the best I've ever seen in a sci-fi series. Avon has to be the coolest character ever.

Defying Gravity, Blakes 7 *nods*

Some names i haven't heard :D

Can't stand red dwarf for some reason.

Perhaps a bad episode i saw, who knows, might give it another run.

The way the series ended was really amazing at the time.
I was only a kid but I remember thinking "No happy ending?"

And yes, Avon counts as a great character. He was a twat, but still did the right thing. :)

I met the actor who played Vila at the London comic con, he said he wasn't a fan of the fourth and final series of Blakes 7 other than the ending and the shuttlecraft episode. That episode has to be one of my favourite sci-fi episodes of all time, the interplay between Avon and Vila is just brilliant.

Ahh, makes me feel like I was 13 again :D

Edit: have some Avon on me!

Defying Gravity has been canned by ABC unfortunately, I quite liked it personally, but the viewing figures sealed it's fate.
