You don't have to leap to his defence when he's not even mentioned in the article. He's not going to notice you.
The article has his picture as the thumbnail and this thread? It might as well be called the "Trump Is Satan" thread (@Jupitus?).

And you don't have to jump on me every time I state a fact - especially when the substance of my post was actually about the monetary system, central banking and mind-capture...

Edit: And I'd like to remind you - after stating it multiple times - I've no interest in 'defending' the orange man. I think he's a cunt.

Loyalty has only ever been a one-way street for Fat Donny.
Nearly correct, doesn't he also bend the rules for his kids and wife? Otherwise everyone is just there to make him money and to be thrown under the bus when things get hot.

Christ we need help.

Trump: Waffling about destroying the Iranian Navy in 3 days, then makes a wise quip about wanting to use them but told the Press Pete Hegseth said no, Trump then said it is more fun shooting THEM DOWN.

Has Iran got flying ships ?

When you're on the level of dementia meds he's on not only do they have flying ships, but planes can now swim underwater.

With Trump saying he's having progressive talks with Iran and Iran saying no such talks are taking place - Is it just me hoping for it to be the biggest Troll in the universe by that radio show in Australia pretending to be Iran??

I am waiting for Jeremy Beadle to pop up somewhere (RIP) shouting "Who's been framed?".

Iran are trolling the shit out of Donald Trump and I must say its hilarious. They've got his number and are treating him like the child he is.

I mean, how can anyone in America have any confidence, at all, in their government?! They aren't even "owning the libs" any more, just fuck up after fuck up, scandal after scandal, child rape allegations, I don't understand how there aren't mass protests, at least, genuinely baffling.

The hope is that they implode before the midterm elections in November. We're already starting to see a split between MAGA's and old school GOP. That said, as long as you don't interact with the federal government, most of this chaos is just background noise. Shocking yes, but somewhat expected at this point. You do what you can to minimize it. My brother in law lives in Texas and we normally go to visit 2-3 times a year. It's a relatively cheap flight, I can WFH to avoid burning holiday, and my kid loves the space. We're not going this year because ICE is hanging out by Walmart, Targets and other stores, detaining anyone who they suspect is foreign. They don't care about your actual status; that's a different department, they just grab people and send them off to detention. As we're a family of jolly foreigners, no visit to Texas or other red states for the foreseeable future.

I know it's an own goal - but be wary of quoting what China thinks. It's a fucking horrid country and don't forget it.

Roughly 60 million of it's own citizenry aren't available to back my statement up - because the State killed them.

Oh I'm very aware... I just found it amusing that China of all places hit the nail on the head lol, that's where we are now, where quotes from China are seen as positive because the USA is so fucked under Trump.

Couple of things.

1) It's not just Trump is it. The USA has spent a lot of time at "war" - if you have a very very loose definition of war - in the last 240 years.
2) If we look at the UK, over the same time period, we're probably beating the United States by quite a lot when it comes to major wars and time in conflict.

But gah - the TL:DR version is - what China put out there (if they did indeed put it out) is largely bullshit.

Great Leap Forward? One Child Policy? Four Pests Campaign?

When they make a policy mistake at least they keep it in-country, unlike the USA.

If you can categorise the 45 million who died of mass starvation during the "Great Leap Forward" a "policy mistake" then all power to you.

The levels of US bashing (of which I've been guilty in the past - we've all consumed some amount of the kool-aid) have reached ridiculous levels IMO.

They're the country we're culturally the most similar to, not surprising considering modern America was founded by Europeans, we share their media, avidly consume their films and TV, we speak the same language, and share most of the same ideals.

When you're backing China in a US bashing contest then you need to have a good hard look at yourself.

Or maybe the fact that it's even a conversation is a good indicator of how much damage Trump has done to the image of the US over the last ~15 months.

He's the one gleefully fucking the world's economy, illegally kicking off a war and then shrugging and saying "lol we don't even need the Strait of Hormuz, you sort it out" when Iran did what everyone (apparently apart from Trump) knew they would and blocked it. At the same time he's seemingly doing all he can to prop up Russia (you know, the actual imminent threat) and turning a blind eye as Russia helps Iran target US bases.

Nobody is "backing China" but when they suddenly start looking like the adult in the room... if nothing else it shows how far the US has fallen.

You are backing China if you think they're looking like the "adult in the room", rather than the dangerous jackboots that they are. It means you've lost your perspective.

Russia isn't an imminent threat btw. And thank you very much, America, for ensuring that too. We couldn't do it without you.

Amazingly, people can hold more than one thought in their head at the same time; China being a bad country but still pointing out self-evident facts is not an oxymoron.

Like it or not the biggest threat to the world right now, both economically and militarily, is the US. There are people close to the levers of power in the US praying for the end times and working to make it happen; and the Narcissist-In-Chief literally doesn't see any of us as real. We're approaching the point of maximum risk for all of us.

Tell that to a Ukrainian, or a Pole, or a Finn. And yes we could do it without the US, and we're probably going to have to. And frankly that might be the positive thing to come out of this shitshow. Of course a heavily armed Europe is a brilliant idea and could never possibly go wrong.

Facts is a very very optimistic term though Gaff - they have to stretch the definition of war so far for it to be simply untrue.

I will say though - religious people in positions of power is terrifying. We share that issue (and not just Americans)

Sorry. We can't do it without the US. Not yet. The US is the reason that the Russians aren't right up to Poland's border.

And we wouldn't be re-arming without Trump being a dick. I agree with him - we'd still happily freeload off the US if he hadn't kicked us hard and threatened to pull US assistance. But he did - so we're doing something about it.

(And the polish teams I work with (daily) think he's nuts like we all do, but see the above as a fair and factual assessment btw).

Your point about Europe re-arming is also one I share. The most war-torn place on the planet becoming a military power again? Jeebuz.

But you can't have it both ways. We're either dependent on the yanks - and should be thanking them - and not capable or we are magically capable right now but simply ripping the yanks off (we're not).

But I guess that isn't sufficiently yank-bashy for round here. I should align with China due to my (existent and very real) outrage with the US eh?

Nah. They're a very good friend who do fucking stupid things*, but still largely have our backs. And they're way better than China.

Imagine China with massive technological superiority. It'd be a global communist shitshow. Their misinformation campaigns are damaging enough tbh...

*Edit: And like when friends fall out - there's mistakes on both sides. Europe and blighty aren't wholly innocent parties either. But then, people line up on their "sides". It's human nature innit. :(

Do they? Really? If you're a large country almost all "wars" are small relative to you; and while I don't think the US are uniquely belligerant, they're definitely in the top three for the last 200 years.

No, we absolutely should not. The reason Europe has been effectively been subservient to US defence policy for the last 80 years is because that's what the US wanted! The US wanted a strong (ish) France and UK, and that was it, and even then they were pretty dubious about France. The rest of NATO in American minds wasn't about mutual defence it was about places America could fight without worrying about permission and to to sell American toys. That was the deal; American hegemony came with great prizes for the Americans but the price was they did the heavy lifting on defence. Whatever we "'owe" the Americans they've reaped back a 100-fold already.

So, we're reliant on them, right?

So we either stay reliant (and obsequiously suck their pole) or we arm ourselves and learn to act independently.

And that's always been in our ken to do. It's not like they've forced us to be cucks. We've bent over, lubed ourselves up and enjoyed it.

Plus ca change.

Yes we did, because it worked for everyone. And the fact you're using language like "cucks" shows how much you've swallowed the kool-aid. We got the peaceful Germans we all wanted. Now we have to go and waste money and make the world more dangerous because the Americans want to change the deal, primarily because the President (as he's demonstrated a hundred times) knows absolutely nothing about history.

The USA has been the world's police force since the end of the Second World War, but their current government is acting as though they've received nothing from it. Having such a huge navy has enabled trouble-free trade across the globe, and they're the primary beneficiaries.

Hopefully they'll fuck things up badly enough that we can weather the current storm and return to some kind of normality when he eventually dies and his party implodes.
