Now how you ever got that to 9 is a mystery to me.

And I know that some other clubs used more money, but looking through the squad Man U has players that has been costing more, like Rooney/Ronaldo/Smith.

It was a bit strange what happened iirc. Originally he wanted to play for Chelsea, then United scooped him from under Chelsea's nose, then Chelsea rescooped him from Utd, but had to pay something like £5m for doing so

Wasnt it closer to 12million in compensation they had to pay United due to the fact contracts had been signed or something? Sure it was in the double figures.

Still dont rate him that highly as a player, he is too unpredictable and often wasteful. Maybe in another year or so he will be a player that I will have some admiration for, but as of yet I dont.

Besides, 51million, almost what chelsea spent on 1 player last year, and they cant do any worse then what shev has, 7million a goal, w00t!

And aye, liverpool do spend the money theirself as is, but no real high profile signings. Just small amounts all over the place which is why they are yet to challenge for the title

point is that nani is a tiny player who depend on all his technical abilities. and perhaps he will have a hard time in the PL because it is alot more physical.. and he still very young aswell

Anderson is quite strong actually. You can easily see it, the way he dribles. Nani relies more on speed though, so I cant see him do any good.

Nani isnt overly physical no... but anderson is very strong on the ball and doesnt mind getting physically involved. He is also a player that when he loses the ball he chases back and puts in a challenge, and he has the ability to simply lever people of the ball which shows his strength.

Luckily Nani will also chase back most the time if he loses the ball, which is a good thing as you cant afford the 2nd winger not too as Ronaldo rarely will get back and put in a challenge after losing it which is the worst part of his game and i would like him to get more involved in that area. Infact my partner always says that Ronaldo sits on a deck chair when he hasnt got the ball

oi, it's just the way he plays I guess. Try watching a match with Nani, and you'll notice he's playing very differently.

Nani is very much like Ronaldo. It is just the portugese way. Rely on speed and ability. Unfortunately that means they often hit the deck. Giggs however trys to stay on his feet which i guess is the difference, he doesnt go down with the faintist of touches.

Nani has got a year or two to learn though, and I reckon he will develop into a better player if he has the will power to stick with it.

Faustino Asprillia (or how ever you spell it!) was one of the earliest foreigners to come to the Premiership, and he wasnt overly strong, but still managed to carry Newcastle by himself at times (Like the 3-0 v Barcelona in the first half!).

Players like Ronaldo show that if people cant get close to you, then you dont really need strength. Sure, if they get man marked through the whole game, then they usually suffer, but its hard to man mark that which you cant catch =)

Cesc manages fine he is not overly physical but still one of the top midfielders in the country
