For the record, I live in a very chav area of Surrey (Yes, there is one, believe me). The old woman behind the counter had already clocked these three girls. I gave her the money so that if one came in the store and asked where I'd gone, she could give them the money back.

Seel - Personally, in an ideal world I'd think not breaking the law and not doing what they ask at the drop of a hat should teach them more respect than doing so. I smoke rollies, so standing there and rolling one for each of them was most certainly out of the question - they probably wouldn't have even wanted them, picky as young girls can be (just ask tris-).

Try telling teenagers from the level of society the area I live in that "Sorry, you have to grow up a bit first, crap isn't it but that's how it was in my youth" and you're more likely to get a brick to the back of the head than a smile and a nod. I wouldn't have called you a wanker if i knew that. It sounded like a wankery "take money and walk" situation, apologies as it wasn't that clear.

Also never would i go and buy them stuff and since you smoke rollies, it's understandable you wouldn't throw them a few. Hell, even i don't if i'm running low on cigs.

It's ofcourse always a situation where you have to know the people, know how they react, but i bet if everyone tried to communicate with these "chavvy hooligan kids" instead of assuing they'll grow up as the "scum" their parents are, attitudes would change and people could actually learn to live together.
