"The new system means for the first time that anybody selling a 12-rated game to a child under that age could face jail." as it bloody well should.

Now parents buying their kids rated games, that's fine, it's a parenting choice if your kid gets drunk at home, is introduced to porn, or whatever the hell other stuff. Parents know what and how their kids can take things, anyone else should follow rules and regulations.

Now if you'll excuse me, i have some baby brains to ferment.

Won't make a difference tbh, even if they are saying you can basically goto jail from buying kids these games there will always be the dumb fuck parents that think its acceptable for 9-10 year olds to own such titles as CoD etc... the only thing this does is sort of act like a trap to a degree because if said parents try to bitch about a game once this goes into full effect they can turn around and go "Oh, so your admitting to buying a 9 year old an 18 rated game? court with you dipshit!"

Ideally this will make developers REMOVE the 'This game is scary, are you 100% undoubtedly sure that we can show you the 30 seconds of the game which may make you sad, even though we've plastered 18 all over the case" warning these games keep getting in them.

Most stores already had a strict system to make sure kids can't get hold of such games, in fact if a place is unsure about your age they won't risk selling it to you but this is all moot as long as parents continue to buy it for their kids any way.

One way would be to make it mandatory for the shops to ask someone "are you buying this for yourself because this is not sutiable for children" on PG rated games, then no parent would have a reason to complain on anythng related to "bad games" :p

Just a basic disclaimer on online shopping which no one reads and voila *give phone to parent* call a prosthetic company 'cause you're missing a leg to stand on.

Did i just solve the age old "violent games make children killers" debate? :D

they prob will now to cover themselves before the complaints and backlash as per usual
they cant enforce it, but if its policy in store then the parents are going to look even more stupid
shifting blame from "evil games " to parents good thing

And the important point is that it doesn't apply to games bought online.
Which means Steam, Origin etc etc.
