Lol lamp, imagine the extra cost (and further investigations headed by 'consultants' on those costs) Love the idea :)

Great part of that article:

"As you would expect for such a prestigious position, we had an exceptional field of candidates, but Bernard Hogan-Howe impressed us all with his vision for the Metropolitan Police, his commitment to cutting crime and the important work he has done for the public.

Well if he isn't thinking about cutting crime then what's the point?? May being a 'tard again. I haven't wiki'd yet, but is he Oxford/Cambridge at any point? Bet he is.

He has an MA in law from Cambridge and a Diploma in applied criminology from Oxford (all cops get diplomas in applied criminology these days), he also has an MBA from Sheffield.

These all look like qualifications he probably gained through being a cop rather than when he was a kid.

Hogan-Howe was my choice tbh, he was a good Chief in Merseyside and is hard when it comes to crime.

he's supposed to be a copper's cop...alright for, say, a detectiver chief super, but at ranks higher than that, you pretty much become an office boy, and at Hogan's level, its all pie-charts, figures, targets, meetings, & politics.

we've heard the same from the last 3 or 4 commissioners....Boris seems to go thru one a year...didn't Ian Blair start off as a no nonsense cop? Its almost as if scandels attach to them like iron filings to a magnet...but no point damning the man before he's begun...time will tell as they say...
