Personally, I think the UFC is overrated. But walking out when you have two fights is just crap. Let the fans down, let the spirit of the championship down. He could have finished those fights and if he wins (as UFC isnt staged like wrestling), retire it with dignity.

Well, what I remember from glancing at the post, it was something to do with only one guy left fighting in UFC as well as his interest in shooting the new Scorpian King movie

He didnt want to fight contenders he wanted to fight the one person who would cement his legacy and then retire.

Whether he'll fight fedor in m1 is another matter.

I think most of us here are MMA fans not UFC fans, so I'm not overly arsed.

There are a ton of top fighters now and we'll see interesting matches for a long time.

As ECA says theres no lack of talented fighters left in the UFC, but its certainly a big loss for the organization. Couture was a phenomenon, as someone said "He has redefined the age at which you can be competative in combat sports". Also a very classy fighter, always respectful and knowledgable.

Also look at just a few of the guys who will be around for a decade+ if they play smart, theres at least 20 top tier guys who can promote just as well, - there are a lot of guys "on the way out" at the moment though that the ufc has relied on in the past and people are trolling it as the end of the ufc ( ortiz, couture, fedor not signing, the new m1 deal/etc ), but counter it with shogun, rampage, henderson, gsp, karo, bj penn and so on.
