today i installed ubuntu onto a second HDD

it works fine, i'm dead happy with it, but i can't boot XP from grub, it just sits there after i press enter and displays some of menu.lst and a blinking curser

someone surjested it has something to do with XP wanting to be on the 1st boot device but i have no idea to fix this :(

help :(

fixed, you have to remap hd1 as hd0 and hd0 as hd1 to trick xp

how awkward

PS: i's loving ubuntu

it would have worked straight off if i had installed grub to my windows drive's MBR

but i didn't want to risk ballsing it up

(could have also used the windows boot loader instead)
