So, how do you actually set up two monitors for your computer?

I'll probably never do it this year, but it'd be interesting to know how anyway :p

i did it with my grafix card, the output for a flat panel monitor had an adaptor

so i plugged 2 CRTs in and off i wnt, it sorted it out for me...

but i believe it can be done with a PCI card and an AGP card

Plug them in, go to properties - settings tab where you normally go to change your resolution etc but this time a 2nd monitor icon appears there too.

If you have an Nvidia there's a whole slew of options in the normal Display Properties -> Advanced window. I seem to recall I ended up using Dual View in preference to Horizontal Span, as with the latter you get all windows defaulting to spanning the two monitors which is damned annoying, especially when any popup dialogue windows do it too.
