Someone in the group who is buffed requires a whole specline of an appropriate class with a ton of specpoints put into it to function like that. Basically, that means that this one stealther is engaging more than one person at a time, and this should put him at an appropriate disadvantage, of course.


Also, buffbots destroy the game's balance as they significantly weaken classes and speclines that have own self buffs.

and people complaining over a certain class killed 2-3 of another at the time, well hello people, some of the players actually has some 'skills' instead of just press anytime.

the point is that huge numbers of people play stealthers because they can't be fucked with waiting around and getting farmed because they don't have 7 other opted friends. Valg misses out on this because he's at the top of the food chain, but lots of people would prefer to solo where he can't see them rather than be farmed by him in PuGs - if the solo game was killed in daoc (i.e. on classic servers), I'd quit, as I have no desire to fuck around being farmed.

Even buffed - that's the sort of figure you get :> Assassins are cannon fodder in classic. In fact the only thing classic promotes is that you have to make a buffbot and bring it along with you, or you team up with a healer type, or you use zillions of charges. Or you play a catacombs class.

the issues are how imballanced it made rvr, banelord interupts, zephyr, etc etc, just a whole list of 1wins, tbh I think classic, where you get DR stuff, and your class abilities makes it far more "skillful" if indeed playing a game can be called skillful, than a toa server where you can fire 3 zephyrs, spam banelord and walk away without a scratch (yes i'm exadurating here!)

OT: How is it unfair that stealthers cant use a buffbot? Any other solo char can't either, so what's your point? If you want buffs, you have to group with a buffer, like everybody else.

it wont be a probelm with DR anyway, base buffs from CL5 and item charges from DS (str/con & dex/qui), haste and AF from alch items.

It doesn't take much effort to get a char fully kitted and go out and have fun again. Its something "new" and thats why it is fun for me. I also personally believe that the balance between the realms is more equal on classic server than it is on a toa server, thats also another funfactor for me. Its more straightforward since there is less abilities to use, so getting the hang of playing a totally new class on a new realm is way easier. In some way, it reminds me of the "good old days", even tho it isn't - anyways, i guess most will get tired of it at some point, especially when the ToA patch goes live on EU server and so will i prolly.

And yes, as madition said, who the fucking fuck gives a fuck about stealthers on classic server. Im sooo glad that there is less of em, and if they add its piss easy to just kill em cuz they got no buffs. This is how buffs shoulda worked in the first place. stealthers should never have the possibility to buff themselves. It ruins the balance in stealtherwars.. rangers and hunters actually benefit from speccing in pathfinding/beastcraft. I really dont see the:" BUT BOOHOO, we need buffs to compete", since the soloers you meet will also be unbuffed, except the classes that can buff themselves ofc.

If you think you are supposed to kill ppl in a fg with ur solo stealther, then i really think you should.. fuck the fuck off, you arent supposed to be able to do that. That way of thinking just pisses me off really..

Precisely, the only people who will lose out overall are those who make most of their RPs by leeching off zergs or other peoples fights, but those are mostly tower hugging archers anyway who will still be able to drag a bot along if they wish.
