TV buying is a minefield. As usual with electronic goods, I like to start with avforums as it's likely someone has bought it before you and can offer proper hands-on advice and possible potential comparisons with other models plus potential pitfalls with the product.

Try this link which will filter down for you - LG 42LD450 site:avforums.com - Google Search

many are alike as they are pretty much spat out from the same production line.

best way to buy a tv is to try and get a demo its still possible out side of the major retailers. still even at places like john lewis, curyys etc you can get em to stick a bluray on.

Fuck me tv's are cheap these days.

My cousin just bought a 50" LG plasma from richer-sounds for £650. The screen is amazing, I was in awe watching apocolypto on BD.

It's good Gibson, and very well made. Or are you telling me you thought it was a bad film?

I watched Apoc and Avatar on Bluray on a 50" 600mhz TV over the chrimbo. I was astounded. The TV only cost £500 notes as well!

Some proper bargains out there now.

is it possible to connect your tv to your pc via the cables router/modem thing. Let me explain. We use a cable box i think, which is also a built in router and has some fibre cable from the router box to the tv. If my PC is connected to the same router box can you get tvs which are able to browse networks? If so what do you need to look for in a tv that can do such things. Was thinking if i downloaded bluerays and would watch them on the tv from the pc.

Yeah if you have a netcast TV then you can just plug it into your router or plug a USB wireless dongle into it.

The TV I just bought can plug into the router. It also can record off the TV onto any hardisk/usb drive plugged into it. Via the router connection you can browse media files over the home network which is easier than farting around with plugging the pc in. It also has skype. Not sure I want to see anyone in 42'' though >.>;;
