Got told to spam here because OT is full of useless *****.

Since my origional query i think im almost at making a choice.
Im torn between a 37" TXP37X10 or a 42" LGSQ6000. Will mainly be watching freeview, dvd/hd dvd and xbox 360.
I guess the important thing here though is my viewing distance is about 6ft. I dont know if a 42" is going to be over kill.
Any suggestions is what im after now!

I did bugdet 1k as i want to get a new sound system too but not sure im going to stretch that far now.

on av forums everyone is wanking over the panasonic, but the LG is meant to be better than a blowjob off carmen electra. so they both appear to be good.

linkz

PANASONIC TXP37X10 at Richer Sounds - HI-FI Separates, Home Cinema, Speakers, MP3 DVD Portables, Plasma LCD, etc.

LG 42PQ60STARSTAR at Richer Sounds - HI-FI Separates, Home Cinema, Speakers, MP3 DVD Portables, Plasma LCD, etc.

can get the lg for 580 at comet.

as i say though im sat about 6ft or even less from the screen. i did have a 37" in here briefly and it was fucking huge so the 42" might be overkill, and the money i save on it can go to a sound system.

If you can budget a tv in at £500-£600 you could just about do aurround sound as well. You can get hdmi a/v receivers from richer sounds for a round the £200-£300 mark, and a basic set of speakers for around £200. I'll have a looksee over the weekend.

Richer-sounds price match, and their customer service is great. Don't use comet dixons etc unless you have no choice.

Also, you don't have to get everything at once. If you wait and save ou can buy the amp and speakers over the next few months, and have a much more powerful and versatile system. I hate those all in one jobbies tbh.

its all going on credit anyway but over the few months that is what i can afford. i plan to go on holiday at some point too you see!
there is nothing actually wrong with the amp mind. its a jvc job ive had for about 7 years. maybe just new speakersw would do, but i want floor standing ones.

Better to just buy some good quality floorstanders then, and keep the surrounds and sub you already have?

Think I'd go for something like this myself, mainly as it's got a full hd panel in it, where both the lg and panasonic linked are 1024x720. depends what you're after really though, I guess.
as for which size to go for, if you've tried a 37 and it seemed too big, might be better not going for a 42, as that will definitely "feel" bigger, what with being bigger and all that. If 37 is on the borderline, stick with that really.

im too compulsive at buying for my own good and went with the LG. according to the peopel on av forum its up there with one of the best at the moment for what im wanting it for. i thought it would be a total beast in this room but it fills the wall nicely. plus i got a buyer for my old tv so i could afford to spend more on it :)

im watching freeview atm and its like a CRT tv image.

Good choice. I have a 37" LG (LCD mind) and it's uber. Hooked up to a quality source like a PS3 it looks sexual. Sky Sports looks less sexual, feel I may have to upgrade to Sky HD.

Oh and I have some Mission floorstanders here. But I love them and you can;t buy them. So ner.

I'm going to offload my Mission kit fairly soon, a pair of bookshelf M72i's, the matching centre channel (M7C2) and rear surrounds (M7DS).

No, these people are full of shit. You want to get yourself a nice set of Monitor Audios. Anything else and you clearly enjoy the company of big hairy testicles.

It really depends on what you're prepared to pay and what brand you prefer. Mission make some good speakers from a budget price to a super expensive price. B&W, Kef, Tannoy, Mordaunt Short are some other makes to take a look at.

Or maybe Linn - Linn Komri - made in Scotland

Well, that's what I mean on it depends on what you have to spend on a pair of speakers.

Overcompensating for having a PS3 instead of a 360.

Yeah; the piano black, integrated wireless media centre, blu-ray playing, twin-tuner, freeview recording seventh generation console was the wrong choice.
