i've gone for the all singing all dancing £85 a month package with virgin media, i dont trust sky broadband as far as i can throw it, never had a problem with my 10 meg ntl connection. Got the best Tv package (V+ with an extrea box for upstairs all sky sportos and movies) and the phone with free evening and weekend calls and a discouint for mobiler calls (currently 75% of my Bt bill is for mobiles) so im saving a lot.

i dont mind about the one HDTV channel at the moment theres bound to be a few more popping up in the spring.

Surely sky broadband is just going to be rebadged ukonline/easynet, which although not as good as it used to be can't be all bad (although all the good people left squeesynet a few years ago anyway)

In theory yes, but the Sky offer is capped, unlike UKO, which was my last provider and actually wasn't half bad. Thing about most of these combi packages is that there's no such thing as a free lunch.

Gone with Virgin Media 2 for £20 offer

Phone (free weekend calls) + Broadband (2MB no limits)

Ill just stick with freeview for now, maybe get sky+ later or a windows media box or some other form of PvR

So how much does that cost, I thought v+ was £15 a month ? Is it as good as sky+ where you can browse the TV guide and hit record to set the timer, and pause/rewind live tv.

im paying £46 a month for those 3 atm, plus my mobile is up middle of this month so ill be getting that as well (300 mins, 300 text £10) so with discounts should hopefully be paying about £50 odd for all 4:)

So as I'm on Virgin Media, I no longer get sky one, etc. Guess I'm canceling my cable then, been debating it recently anyway.

When I had it, at least I felt justified using torrents (i.e. I'll just download this now, it'll be on sky later), so no ethical issues. Recently I've realised I just don't care anymore! Bittorrent FTW!

Well by that rule every terrestrial TV watcher can say "I'll just download this now, it'll be on TV in a few years" :p

See I am too lazy to bother d/ling, so losing sky one is pissing me off. Also Sky sports news was good, I like leaving it on when I am doing other things and having it as background noise :/
