stevie ray vaughan. while everyone else was busy putting out shit from synths that a poodle on meth couldnt enjoy, that man was making some of the best music ever recorded.

Kinda the era I grew up in, so many different musical influences I can remember.

Madness/Bad Manners/The Beat/Special AKA (I was quite into Ska as a yoof).

saw some good gigs too, Adam and the Ants, Transvision Vamp, Bad News (was hilarious).

God the memories are flooding back now....

Agree with a lot of the above, best era for music imo so many to chose from many great bands at there best.

Smiths, New order and the cure were my personal influences although practically every song posted so far if it came on the radio would make me smile and my girlfriend wince as I dance around the room :clap:

I was born in the late 80's, so was too young then. But wheres the punk music guys? Most of them music I like is punk/ska music from the late 70's and 80's.
