final mixes due soon, need to sort some mastering out. gone for a more progressive type thing, some of the drops will be cut out as it staggers the tune and I need to sort the EQ shelves.

I haven't got a name for it yet so if anybody has any ideas I'd be willing to consider any suggestions.

140bpm 5.75mb 192kbit and for now its called thang (no lofi or hifi streams yet as its not hosted up at besonic at the moment).

enjoy

Sounds like QT has taken over.
Real does similar stuff.
Make sure your file types and applications to play those files are as you want.

A bit Propellerheads meets Hybrid maybe? It's good; but sounds a bit Muzak-like; I can imagine it being played as background music in TV ads more than anything :) Lack of topline maybe.

Nice production :) Can tell it's good but it's not to my tastes really.. me is a bit ov a mad techno head and euphoric trancer dood.

Sounds like it'd work well on a computer game u know!!

Techno head? As in Vitalic and Umek? Or has techno been hijacked by fluffy music?

Yea Umek is good.. he played @ a local club called Sub7 (www.sub7.tv)

I am quite new to the scene yet though so have got lots to learn about who's who... but nice loud evil dirty menkal head fucking techno is the flavour of the day for meee.

And some people might diss me now but Picotto is a god just lately, his DJ sets are the nuts. Shame he releases tunes into the charts which are nothing like what he plays in clubs.. shoots himself in the foot there but @ least the GOOD remixes of the tunes are decent :)

I'm talking about 2-3 years BEFORE he started making tracks like Pulsar and Lizard.

I have it and am using it atm (v3.3), not a bad proggy. I'm a total beginner and I'm slowly getting to grips with it. Good for putting loops together.

Ditto Sar. It's very easy to get to grips with, and quite versatile once you learn some of it's more advanced features. Get some virtual synths to go with it too, like ones from http://www.dashsynthesis.com/. If & when you get good and want to reach pro-standard, then try something like Reason for all your producing needs :).

Fruity loops is good if your musical talent extends to dropping blocks into place (ie you have no clue about structure or melody), if you want to use something that will actually give you semi decent results your best bet is Propellerhead's Reason, piece of piss to use, can get an almost finished song in 10 minutes, it's not got any advanaced features, but as a beginner you aren't going to be needing them.

Eh? Have you actually used it? If it's any version earlier than 3 then I could understand, but with the piano roll you can get just about any melodic structure you can think up. And you do have to MAKE the blocks before you drop them into place, duh...
