They have now said the cause of the accident is due to a design fault of all the central line trains!!

So they are not going to be running any trains for quite some time!!

Legally they have to put all the money back in to the roads.

Not so. The money raised from congestion charging in London is being used to fund public transport in the capital.

Now whether that is a direct funding or just redirecting that amount in each annual budget I don't know.

Well the underground going to be funded by this PPP (first prize goes to who can tell me what that stands for). Which means you will get announcements like "This station is sponsored by Coca Cola". Theoretically it should make things better, but I will hold judgement...

I'm not buying that, if it's design fault, what are the chances that it could take 15 years of intensive running to show up?

I accept that there is a chance, but how many thousands of jouneys must that train have made?

Bollox. :(

I get the central line every day of the week to get to work.

I hate the busses so I've got the choice of a 15 minute walk through the streets of london, battling my way through the pollutioan and the directionally challenged masses OR I can get on the circle line and take twice as long.

Given the fact that my mainline train is normally 20 mins late each day...I just hope it's not raining tomorrow.

PS I JUST PUT UP A DOOR!!!
It's taken months and now it's finished. It fits badly and is rough around the edges BUT IT'S UP!!!

YEAH!!!

I have to take two F'ing busses tomorrow! Or find some other way of getting to a different tube line...

Re: The design Fault.

They knew there was a fault. They check the trains every 5 days or something. There has been an accident before. The trains are only 10 years old.

I think someone should get a good ole whippin!!

Just to report, my girlfirend informs me that the entire Circle line will be completely shut tomorrow but mentioned nothing about total closure over a longer period. Obviously it depends on which sources are saying what but you're certainly going no where tomorrow :(

I assume you mean the central line.

The line isnt going to be properly operational for weeks!

Luckily I'm off on holiday on Wednesday!!

I saw a prog on telly the other day about the skiving workmen down there spending days doing nothing in teams of 10 or just sleeping :) And Ken is going to charge you extra for it :D

I had to walk this morning. :(

Took 20 mins of struggling through directionally challenged idiots and slow bastards who walk half as fast as everyone else and wander from side to side causing "people jams".

London is stressy. :/

I've figured out the best way through is just to fix your eyes on where you're going and hope people move out of my way. I'm not a small chap so the odd bump means I don't come off worst.

I hate commuting. :(

I think there must be a factory somewhere that produces these types of people who manage to occupy the entire pavement!
And when they bump into you due to their crab style walking they get all annoyed...

Amen to that :)

I walk from Kings Cross to Warren Street everyday, and I must walk twice that distance by having to weave in and out of the pedestrian'ily challenged.

How hard is it to put one foot in front of the other and continue to walk in a straight line, these people have the hand/eye co-ordination of a blind car salesman, hooked on crack, going cold turkey after drinking 12 pints of stella

[/rant] :D

saw a piece on telly the other night about the London underground and the workmen doing maintenance.

It was SCARY.

Firstly, they couldnt find anyone who actually knew how to do one of the jobs on their list

Then, found out that they tried to make a curved rail out of a straight piece by banging it with a hammer.

Thank gawd I dont get the underground.

Perhaps all the crab walkers are fellow game players and they are strafing down the pavement? :)
