I thought it was pretty interesting anyway
I don't quite get how maths isn't an empirical concept though, surely we worked out 1+1=2 from experience :s but then i may have missed his point

Math has many forms, some of which are emperical some of which aren't. None emperical math generally involes infinities and statements that can be true or fales, but with no evidence either way, most complex mathmatical models are based on non-emperical data, specifically in terms of cosmology and quantum physics. Whereas 1+1=2 is simple arithmatic, the oldest and most basic form of math and obviously emperical.

Maths is based on axioms. Its nice that it pretty much describes the real world too
