Traveltime to/from work

That includes 6mins run through the ghetto known as thorton heath.

Well, as I'm still a student (When I'm not on holiday :]) my average time to walk is around 15-20 minutes (So maximum of an hour) each way.. Can take around 30-40 min depending on weather/mood etc.

Old commute was just under an hour each way, involved 1 train, DLR and walking for 10 minutes. (On the way back, this involved hitting the start of rush hour) which could make it near enough 2h on the way back.

Please, you don't run through the heath, that just makes you look like a target.

I've never had a problem in thornton heath, i've been mugged in harrow on the hill though. Goes to show, don't judge an area by appearances.

I'm currently working for a HGV driving agency and I'm driving about an hour to an hour and a half to work, then spending between 11 and 15 hours out in the truck and then up to two hours driving home through traffic.
I'm slowly dying inside.

Never do, hehe. Though, I've been mugged in Norbury once and assaulted there once. Actually walked through T.H. a few times alone and never been touched, much like Streatham(sp) ^^ Just bad press for those areas, even though they're not that bad. (Hell, Tooting isn't as bad as people say)

It used to take me about 2.5 hours door to door, so roughly 5 hours a day commute. It sucked big time.

Now I work 25 mins drive away and love it.

Are you on crack? Streatham is a shithole, I know I have worked there. Norbury is a dangerous place too.

Well, I've never been mugged there. So it's not bad compared to some places. The traffic during rush hour (WTF at single lanes both ways?!) drove me insane once, taking a buss killed me.

Heh. You're right T.Heath isn't really that bad. I walk home at all times of the day 4am - 1am and never had a problem.

Anyway, I once had a 3hr night bus commute home from an old shift job. that sucked.

I get up at 8am, on the road for 8:25am and get to work for 9am.

However, this is the most unpredictable M8 motorway - so much as a hedgehog on the Edinburgh city bypass is enough to fuck it all up.

On a good day, i'm 30 mins there and 30 mins back (1 hour total).

On a "lorry broken down on hard shoulder so every fucker slows down to 20 mph for a look" day, i'm an hour at least there and about 30 mins back.

An hour to drive 10 miles is outrageous.

Nah you'd be on back roads and that would be a much more roundabout route.

Plus I enjoy the cabin of my BMW and i'm a lazy cnut.
