Travel Tips for Glasgow needed!

Heya!
My gf and I are planning a weekend trip to Glasgow this november.
Any scotsmen/-women or others out there with a few tips on what to do while we are there? We want to see some cultural sights (Big castle with swordsmen at the gates ) some shopping, and more "culture" like a nice pub or a good place for a dinner for 2.
All tips are appreciated and will be awarded some gold upon killing me in emain...! Which should be damn easy! And/or repped AFTER we get back and know you didnt send us to a gay strip joint

Go to london imo makesure your at queens palace and 11am and Bam big swordmen people and stuff lol with funny hats

tbh you probably better going to Edinburgh if your looking for history, nice views and guards with sword etc

Edinburgh is an older city and more traditional. Glasgow has some nice galaries and things. Around the centre of town.

Go to erm Bjora ? i think its called that a little island off coast of scotland some wierd things happen there like people die and come back alive as babys and loads of ghosts

Yeah ure probably right. Although we have been to Edinborough and Inverness, so Glasgow is next on list. Can live without the swordsmen, just want some sights worth seeing

Kelvingrove Galleries and gardens is probably a good starting place, Science Museum on the Clyde, Charles Rennie Macintosh place if u can get out to it, loads of arty type stuff anyway.

Oh, and the Cat House in Glasgow if u want a blast of a night to finish off

One of the lesser known attractions in Glasgow happens every night around 7pm in front of every off-license when the Neds start picking random fights with anyone who looks at them/isnt wearing a tracksuit/buys wine that isnt buckfast.

It can be rather fun placing bets on which Ned will be glassed first

On a serious note, the centre of Glasgow is packed full of stuff to do, galleries, museams, tons of shopping and the occasional overpriced restraunt. The train station is handily near by if you need to stagger home in a hurry

From the Scottish tourist board. Personally I always enjoy a trip along Sauchiehall Street, visit the Glasgow School of Art to look at the work of Charles Rennie Mackintosh in its building and go to the Willow Tea Rooms to experience his work in actuality.
