We're going to take our daughter to EuroDisney on the Eurostar.

The train leaves mid morning on the last Sunday in May and returns at 9pm on the Thursday after. Our problem is finding the best way to get to and from St Pancras, bearing in mind we live in Devon.

Normally we would take the train, and stay the night before and after, and this may still be an option, but we will be travelling back home on the Friday and the train prices are huge compared to Thursday or Saturday (and we can't wait till Saturday to come back as we have plans). There are no trains home that start late enough to catch on the Thursday evening.

The other option is to drive, but I have no idea where to park the car, there is an NCP at St Pancras, but this would cost the same as the train tickets plus accommodation (well maybe not quite, but not far off).

So is there any reasonably cheap/safe/secure parking anywhere near the station, or at least within a reasonable bus/underground journey? If we could get to the car within an hour or so of returning I would drive home on the Thursday night.

Is there any other option that I have not considered?

Thanks

RB

You're in luck... well... I'm not sure just how secure it is, but there is a car park right by my work for £8 a day only (absolute bargain) but you would also need to work out what you pay for congestion charge.... google map on "clere street london".

From here to St Pancras is about £10 by taxi, at a guess.

No National Express coach routes near you then?

Thanks Jup,

My car's not an obvious target, a 2003 Golf, but would you leave your car there for 5 days and nights? It's a worry isn't it?

Meg, could get a coach, but I'm 6'3" and with an 8 year old too I think that life is just too short :). I once went from Exeter to Aberdeen by overnight coach and swore never to use the bloody things again.

I think it ought to be safe - it is fairly central and there are security available.... an alternative would be to park SW of London and get the train in to Waterloo, but that's a bit of a bind too.
