Ronaldo can go on the left, Beckham can be used in rotation, hes a United legend, of course I'd take him back in a heart beat :p

no way tbh, if you have actually been watching his performances for Real when he has played. He was dismal at the weekend misplaced passes to there players every other attempt.

Beckham thought he was the boy in his last season at united, but for me he forgot how to play the way he made his name from. He stopped crossing the ball and that was what he brought to the game. Dont forget he has won shit all at Real since he left Utd. No massive ego around the club especially minus his fucking wife.

Park, Ronaldo, Giggs, richardson anyday of the week over Beckham now tbh.

I don't think he is past his sell by date as such, I truely believe with enough will and effort he could recapture his best form. The problem though is that his lifestyle and wife place far too many demands on his time and energy. A good professional goes home after training and rests but Becks is jetting here there and everywhere to either meet pricks like Tom Cruise, do media work for his sponsors or be at the beckon call of his retarded missus.

Put simply his fitness is shit, his sharpness has deserted him and his mind is elsewhere because he has far too much going on in his life. He cannot concentrate on the job in hand and ontop of that all the pressure on him from both fans and the media is immense. Remove all those things and let the fella train properly plus concentrate on his game and it wouldn't be long before he looked world class again. The old saying goes, form is temporary but class is forever. This applies to Beckham as much as any other player.

Sadly though you won't see a return to form, at least not in a top European league. His agents and wife will make him chase the easy money and the glamour lifestyle, they will fill his head with shit about it prolonging his career when the truth is he will be finished in 2-3 years if he carries on like this not training properly, not playing well and running himself into the ground for sponsors and wife.

Fucking shame really but look around you, 90% of married men are utterly hen pecked and sadly Becks is no different.

£128 million for 5 years lol

Beckham could of been an all time great, instead he let his wife run the relationship.

At least Gazza fucked up his career by himself, he didnt need his wife to do it for him. (Although Gazza lost more, he was 100 times the player beckham was)

In my lifetime, Gazza was the greatest player I have ever seen. Better than ROnaldinho, ZZ, Henry etc.

500.000 a week is sick, for a player that is no way near the world's best. But I guess they'll be getting the money home on merchandise anyway..

Nah its not english pride. Gazza had it all. I saw Gazza do things only ZZ could dream of. However, ZZ is a true great, Gazza isnt because of the way he fucked his career up.

Some more Jose gossip from the BBC website and some *cough* reputable newspaper sources;

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has confirmed to a "close friend" that he will quit Chelsea in the summer. (Sun)

Mourinho's breaking point came when the club refused to sanction a swap deal involving Aston Villa's Milan Baros and Shaun Wright-Phillips. (Independent)

Mourinho will take over at Inter and is looking for houses in Milan. (Sun)

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich won't ask Russia coach Guus Hiddink to replace Mourinho for fear of upsetting president Vladimir Putin. (Daily Mail)

Chelsea captain John Terry is suffering from a nerve problem in his back and does not know when he will return. (Daily Mail)

Gotta love these :p

Maybe a little, but i don't think Abramovich is stupid enough to sack a manager who's brought him 2 titles and a cup over probably the only real bad run of form in what, nearly 3 years? :p

Some of them are mostly likely wrong, the Terry one may way be real though. Let me provide some insight. I have had two spinal operations myself in recent years, any incision from surgery always leads to swelling for a number of weeks until the tissue properly heals. Whilst the tissue is inflamed extra pressure is placed upon the nerve running through the lower back and into the leg, this pressure causes defered pain in the leg but most usually behind the knee and in the calf muscle. From what I can gather Terry is suffering from this problem, it isn't the muscle that is the problem just that the defered pain is causing muscle to ache and occasionally spasm. A course of anti-inflammatories and additional rest time will usually be enough sort the problem out. It does seem that they have rushed him back a bit soon though, even with keyhole surgery you need at least 14 days for the tissue to reach the final stages of healing and they have had him being a little too active during the first week of healing for my liking.

As for Jose going, if they go out of the Champions League early and don't win the league I fully expect him to quit. There are obviously problems at board level now, by his own words yesterday he admitted that the board had refused him additional funds to strengthen the squad given the injury problems. If you saw that interview he looked very bleak and his whole tone was very unlike Jose. I think Chelsea are mad, the guy is a great manager and if they aren't careful I can see them losing him. How hard would it have been to compromise and let him sell players to fund the purchase of others?

That isn't the issue Vlad, it is one of personality. First of all he has a poor relationship with Peter Kenyon and secondly billionaires are not used to being told what to do nor are they willing to accept failure after making a massive investment. Injury excuses will not cut it with the Russian, he has spent £300 million over 3 years to build a massive squad and yet the squad members coming into fill the gaps are blatently not good enough, that or totally unmotivated. Either way the owner will lay the blame for that at the managers feet, rightly or wrongly.

Good post that Cho.

The other thing i don't think people realise is Jose does bring a new aspect to the premiership. Whether people want to beat Chelsea because of the money they've invested, or because they don't like Jose's smug celebrations/interviews (which fyi i find quite fun :D), it still adds to the overall atmosphere to the premiership.

You bring in someone like Guus Hiddink, thats all fine and dandy. I've not seen him in the past but i doubt he lacks the flair which Mourinho has, you can't deny it the guy loves the game and the team he's in charge of.

While it'll be a major blow for Chelsea, i think some of the frantic pace the premiership has with the title race will Man Utd seriously stepping up their game will lose.

The one thing i don't want Chelsea to suffer is the curse of Real Madrid. All the superstars under one roof that simply lack the cohesion of a team like Utd at the moment.

Oh well, guess it's just a wait and see game now :p

They're gonna win the CL this year so yeah :D

Unlikely but not impossible, Arsenal have the best shot out of any English team mainly because they have a game best suited to continental football, thier small squad may cost them again though. If Chelsea don't sort morale out soon I can honestly see them going out of Europe to Porto, it is why I keep telling friends it is so important for United to put the screws on Chelsea now while the chips are down because it is only a matter of time before they find some kind of form again. We need to take advantage now or at least keep the pressure on by maintaining that 6 point gap.

I like Jose and so I am torn, as a United fan I would love to see him piss off as he is a serious threat to United's chances of winning more silverware. As a football fan I think the Premier League is a much stronger league since his arrival, he has forced a stagnant United and Arsenal to raise thier game to compete and it shows with English clubs dominating Europe again.

In all honesty if Chelsea had kept the side they had last year and not let go of the likes of Duff and Gallas I think that Chelsea would be leading the pack again this season, United would have been closer but not quite close enough. What I can't understand is why they weakened thier side by allowing those two players to leave and then taking big risks on both Sheva and Ballack. That right there is the problem, I honestly don't think Sheva was Jose's pick but he had no choice and I think the club saw Ballack and got the 'Galactico' mindset. That is partly why I am convinced the rumours are true and Jose is unhappy. The Russian and the board are getting more and more involved in team matters and Jose wants sole control of all footballing matters, right now he just isn't getting it and by denying him additional funds to strengthen (which they obviously need) they are effectively throwing down the gauntlet by saying either win silverware with what you already have or quit. Either is a big big mistake by the board, they need to get a couple of hard working commited players in badly and offload the moaners. If they don't morale will only get worse if results don't start to go thier way. Letting Jose leave will be a massive mistake but I really do feel the board have the knives out for him now, otherwise why not back him with a little more money?

Apparently Chelsea are going to steal Hargreaves from under United's nose:
http://www.football365.com/story/0,17033,8652_1831962,00.html

Nope, just Bayern trying to talk the price up by spreading rumours. Chelsea have an overloaded midfield already and have two defensive midielders in Makalele and Essien that might well be better than Hargreaves in a number of ways. That is before you even take into account the other midfielders like Lampard, Cole, Ballack, Mikel and Diarra. I am sure Vlad could name another one or two as well. They don't need Hargreave and adding another central midfielder would only cause more unrest.

Here is exactly what Chelsea need. Cech fit again, same for Terry. Rid of Shevchenko and replace him with a promising prolific youngster like Torres. Also get rid of any moaners, SWP has to go and he can take his whinging dad with him, football is a mans game so don't get your dad to say the things you don't have the balls to. Then the hard part, find an effective replacement for Gallas and not some prancing prat who doesn't like cold weather or rough challenges. Just stay away from Heinze you bastards :p
