So you should, both great. Shame Makalele is getting old, a damn fine player.

Yeah but coming at the right time imo. With him getting old he'll start to lose fitness and his general sharpness. Probably why he's being rested in smaller games now so he can play for longer over time.

Essien will make a great holding/defensive/ballwinning midfielder, especially given how well he can go forward but just as easily make up ground again if possession is lost :p

Essien is best player in whole Chelsea tbh but he can be such a butcher on the field :x

He's butchered just as much. Most fouled player in the premiership relating to bookings iirc :p

Stokes to Sunderland for a undisclosed fee i can't help but think we should have kept him. Still have lupoli and alialdeaire who are not imprssing while on loan but sell the guy who scores for fun :)

Simulation at its very best ;)

Hardly :p

Remember he played with a broken wrist not too long ago?

And with players like V.Persie and Fabregas you can hardly comment on simulation :p

Fabragas is very little he gets knocked over easy ;) . And Van Persie i seem to remember the last time he was accused of a dive Mogan got a 3 game ban for punching him ;) We got rid of Reyes he was the worse one we had :)

Funny cos when he gets a strong challenge he's normally right back up on his little feet ready to clatter the other guy :p

Shame even Makalele would do him over ;)

What makes the matter worse is where will you slot him into the team? I for one do not rate him that highly. Sure he does an ok job but he isnt world class. Man Utd currently have got a good midfield and i dont feel Haargreeves can fit in unless they pick up injuries. I would never remove scholes out the team this season unless had no option due to injury and carrick has slot in there well enough now. No point in changing it around. Yes we lack that strength in depth, but we got ok midfielders in backup but we are screwed on the forward positions and that is what needs to be developed more so. That said, if he wants to play a fringe role in the club then that is fine, but i can only see it affecting the harmony of the team because he will want first team football and if not getting it tehre bound to be whines!

edit: More to the point, isnt he currently injured? that makes it even more a waste of money if i have remembered that correctly, and that he is out for a couple months (broken leg was it?).

Why the hell would you need more forwards? You have Saha, Rooney, Larsson, Dongfazhou (or whatever that chinese guy is called,) Solskær and Rossi.

You have 6 forwards, 3 of them world-class, 1 joker and 2 talents, to be honest I think the midfield need some width, as O'shea and Flecther just aren't the same level that Scholes and Carrick are, and an injury to any of those two would set you guys back in my opinion.

And btw. this whining over diving is getting ridicilous in my opinion, yes people dive, it's irritating as fuck, but that's the way it is, no reason to argue which players dive the most.

Also Alan Smith. I honestly don't think we need anymore forwards till we sell Saha off and decide the future of Smith. As for Dong and Rossi, far from the finished article right now, better to send them out on loan to teams where they will get a guaranteed starting place, youngsters develop much faster when they are playing competitive football twice a week.

6 forwards yes. 4 high quality but "may" lose one in march. May not but cant edge your bets. That leaves you with 3 high quality. If one gets injuried you just got your starting two. Hopefully this will not be an issue and larsson stays till end of season. At that point I would agree we got suitable cover though.

1 potential high qualities. Be better off on loan though to get regular football so that they would be a better player for next season when they could really challenge for a position.

1 not so good forward.

Midfield. O'shea is strong. He hasnt got the distribution of Carrick but he definately strong defencively. And as long as he plays it simple then he can fill in ok. For the wings yes we havent got world class winger in reserve, however there aint many at a suitable price available. I dont like fletcher but if it only a game here and there he does ok. Just stick him on wing and bring giggs infield if scholes is injured and it will normally work out ok. Especially as Giggs will generally roam anyways.

Freddie has not played the same for us in 2 years since his big injury (cruciate i think). For me he is currently 3rd in line for wingers when fit Roisky Helb Lujenberg Walcott. I think we missed the chance to sell him when Barcelona were interested so unless he wants to go i do not really see a pointselling him if he is happy to be a squad player.

Oh, yes, how could I forget about him? :D

And about the youngsters, I think Dong might aswell play a bit for the reserves, to learn the English game, don't know that much about him, only that he's supposed to be China's biggest talent, and that he has been playing in Belgium for a while now.

Rossi has pulled some wild shit off for the reserves, and he did well in the FA cup too, whenever they usedc him, I think he'd do well as a jump-in the last 10-20 minutes in a match.
But Alan Smith in top form is great to be honest, only thing is, that he isen't in top form, so you'll be lacking if it comes down to using him.

I'd much rather put Park in there, he's world class when in form. Don't think you've got any problems there. Fletcher is okay, nothing more in my eyes, he has a good age though, and could go far, you never know how it works out, but for now he's nothing more than an okay player in my eyes.

Oh, and we beat you guys in Parken! :p

Surely Fletcher is better than just average? I know he tends to become anonymous in a lot of games, but when I've seen him play, he seems to pick out some absolutley fantastic passes.

Granted the vast majority of the time I have seen him play is for Scotland, but he plays out of his skin, chasing down everywhere and pulling the strings in midfield. Maybe he just suffers from not being able to play central at Man Utd due to the abundance of talent they have? I'm sure he will come good :)

I have to agree with tassle about fletcher. I would use Park on that position any day.

Ditto, on his day Park is a very talented player and I would be picking him first as well. Fletcher is a decent player too when on form but sadly he doesnt get enough football to get a good run of form going and is unlikely to anytime soon. He would be better off going back to Scotland, he would be a big fish in a small pond there and also get the chance of Champions League football every season.

Allow me to rephrase, of course he is better than the average player, but we're talking Manchester United here.
In say Watford, Flecther would probably be one of the better players and maybe even linked to some of the bigger clubs, but a player coming up from the youth ranks just has to offer something extra, and on a Manchester United team he comes out as looking nothing but average.
