Aye, he's scored 3 hat-tricks already this season (now 16 in 18 games), and he's only 18, of course Ireland with Robbie Keane, Doyle, and Stokes, when he breaks into the national team (sooner rather than later), will still score feck all goals unfortunetly :(. There's lots of interest in him though, wouldn't surprise me if Celtic got him though

Yeah from his interviews he likes scotland so he could stay up there, I think falkirk have some other ex arsenal youngsters so he might chose to stay there. What ever he dose i do not want to see him sold untill he has had a run in the arsenal squad to see if he can cope.

Thats your average typical "Johnny Come Lately" Chelsea fan. They think football was only invented in 2004

Chealski have great history in terms of winning things just look.
* First Division/FA Premier League: 3
1954-55, 2004-05, 2005-06
* FA Cup: 3
1970, 1997, 2000

See look at that what a great club they are.

Its not our fault that a player with twice the skill from elsewhere costs half the price of his engish competition. Henry 10 million anyone?? (Collymore Oo cost 8.5 mil back in the day). How much would henry cost if he was english. And Ferdinand world most expensive defender? but is he the best in the world? Not for me no he is shit hot but not the best.

That must have been when those pricks said Arsenal ect were killing english football so wanted to make the premier leauge chage it to 8 english players out of your 16 allowed. If that happens its goodbye premier leauge as we know it.

But now we don't, so FU! ;):D:D

I dont actually think its a bad thing that a team is full of foreigners, as long as they are all good foreigners like Arsenal. Its the boltons and blackburns that annoy me for buying dog shit foreigners, rather than bringing through some good young english players.

imo Benitez would let crouch go tbh :D if he scores in one of the up comming games Benitez will keep him :) He wants to stay and Benitez needs him tbh..

If you read what you wrote, you're implying that Crouch's future is hinging on one goal.

Try again :)

United are fucking daft if they pay that, even if the spread the payments over 4 years we will still be getting fleeced. I wouldn't pay more than £14 million and I don't think we should have paid any more than that for Carrick either.

What makes the matter worse is where will you slot him into the team? I for one do not rate him that highly. Sure he does an ok job but he isnt world class. Man Utd currently have got a good midfield and i dont feel Haargreeves can fit in unless they pick up injuries. I would never remove scholes out the team this season unless had no option due to injury and carrick has slot in there well enough now. No point in changing it around. Yes we lack that strength in depth, but we got ok midfielders in backup but we are screwed on the forward positions and that is what needs to be developed more so. That said, if he wants to play a fringe role in the club then that is fine, but i can only see it affecting the harmony of the team because he will want first team football and if not getting it tehre bound to be whines!

edit: More to the point, isnt he currently injured? that makes it even more a waste of money if i have remembered that correctly, and that he is out for a couple months (broken leg was it?).

A fully fit Hargreaves IS world class at his position.

Aye, he showed at the World Cup that he can run the midfield in a world class manner. The problem is this, alot of English fans still underrate him because they see very little of him and have formed thier opinion based on England performances where he came on as sub and was played either out of postition or in central midfield as part of a 4-3-3. You ask any Bayern fan do they think he is world class or were his perfomances at the World Cup a flash in the pan, they will all tell you the same thing, he has been delivering performances at that level for years at club level. He hasn't been a fringe player at Bayern for a long time, he has been the rock which thier midfield has been built on for the last 3-4 years. I rate the guy highly, I just question wether he is worth more than £15 million in the current market. United had to pay over the top to get Carrick, I certainly wouldn't want to see them do it again anytime soon. Better to grab Mascherano on loan till the end of the season and assess things then, Hargreaves will have 6 months less on his current deal and Bayern will have a decent change of finding a replacement for more reasonable money.

Tbh I rate him over Carrick and we payed top buck for him, I would pay another 2million to secure his services. Carrick can be world class but its gonna take him a while to get the consistency required to be labelled that. Hargreaves has been doing it for years at Bayern.

As Chodax says though most so called football fans would not know shit all about Hargreaves because he does not play in this league :p that is why when they were whining about his performances in an England shirt I could sympathise with him, once he was put in his position he turned them all around with his performances.

If i were furguson or wenger i would hope Gerrard was still un setteled and bid 25 - 30 mil for him he is class. And easy worth the extra 10 mil to Owen H

The problem i see with big money January signings is most can not help you where they can pay back the most in the champs leauge.

Know Hargreaves quite well, and though he is good i would not class him as world class. I admit he is solid and consistant but I dont see the point in spending that kind of money on a position where there is no real void currently, not after paying the amount we did on Carrick. That was a waste for a 2nd choice player, paid over the odds and as such we should focus in other areas. Once they are filled in this window and Hargreaves is fit+less time on contract then make a move. Only at that point will he be worth it. Mind you I am looking at this from more of a business few at the moment as well as from a fans view.

The problem is that we have no natural defensive central midfielders in the squad, even Carrick doesn't really fit into that bracket as his game is more about distribution rather than ball winning. Frankly without a world class ball winner for the big games we won't win a thing, it is what has held us back for the last 2 years in many ways. We didn't replace Keano and our style of play requires a driving midfielder who can win the ball a high percentage of the time. That is what Hargreaves brings to the table, he is brave as hell, not as good a ball winner as Keano but he has a great engine and will always chase opponents down. The likes of O'Shea and Fletcher are just not good enough for that role, not even good enough to provide cover for it. We really need a thrid top class central midfielder to give us options against the big sides rather than playing someone of of postition when Carrick or Scholes are injured and being punished for it.
